Trigger a Task when sending an email

I like the email integration in Bigin but cannot use it effectively without a Task being triggered when sending an email. For example, I currently use a Gmail extension called "Mixmax" wherein I can send an email and have it notify me at a designated time if there was no response. In fact, I can even add a note to myself in the email. Is there any similar functionality in Bigin?

If not, is it possible to send emails from my Gmail account and have those synced with the appropriate contact in Bigin? That way I can see the email history in the Contacts, but use the functionality of Gmail. I believe other CRM's do this, so hoping this is something Bigin can do as well.
