V 1.96: Introducing registrations, recording, a plugin for WebRTC-unsupported browsers, improved connection speed and stability

 As you might have noticed, we have added some webinar features in our recent update. This includes registrations, session recording, a new plugin for WebRTC-unsupported browsers, phone audio enhancements, improved connection speed and stability and some bug fixes.

 

Introducing Registrations for Webinars

You can now invite participants to register for your meeting/webinar. Enable registration when scheduling a webinar, post the registration link on your website or blog to attract more participants, and export and track the list of registered participants. Once registered, participants can join the webinar using the link sent to their email address.

 

Audio and Screen Recording

You can now record your meeting/webinar from the browser-based presenter toolbar. Once you are connected to computer audio and have started sharing your screen, you can begin recording the webinar. You can share the recorded webinar with your participants using the replay link sent to your email address. 

 

Introducing new plugin for WebRTC unsupported browsers

Because we are moving towards browser-based screen sharing, which uses WebRTC technology, and some browsers like IE and Safari have yet to support this, we have introduced a one-time downloadable plugin to host the webinar.

 

Improved connection speed and stability

We have extended the turn servers in four more regions to improve connection speed and reliability. We have also implemented dedicated monitoring systems to enhance the stability of connection and conferencing.

 

Enhancements made for phone audio

We have extended the phone audio dial-in numbers to five more regions: New Zealand, Ireland, Israel, Italy, and Belgium. To improve readability, we have also used region-specific numbering formats for the dial-in numbers.

 

Other enhancements

  • We have made some tweaks to the Meet Now flow from Zoho CRM.
  • Upcoming meetings can now be cancelled, while the same option has been removed from past meetings.
  • Moved to latest security milestone.


Bug Fixes

  • Hang Up button was removed from the participant's toolbar.
  • The UI issue of displaying phone audio country when choosing computer audio in the presenter and participant toolbars has been fixed.
  • UI glitches in the audio conferencing page were fixed.
  • Duplicate meeting creation issue was fixed.
  • The issue of showing remote support in reports was fixed.
  • The 30-day trial link will no longer be displayed to users whose trial has expired.
  • A script error due to undefined video tracks while loading the participant toolbar was fixed.
  • The placement of video tags has been changed so it doesn't overlap the mute button.
  • Script errors while loading the toolbars have been resolved.
  • The mute option has been moved from the audio popup dialog to the inline toolbar.
  • The problem launching the app from Firefox for older screen sharing has been fixed.
  • Minor issues with the Choose Multiple Monitor UI in Mac OS were fixed.
  • Joining a meeting without entering a name will no longer take the placeholder text as the name.
  • The issue of being directed to a blank page when joining a meeting with an empty name field was fixed.
