Hello Users,
We’ve rolled out new features and enhancements in Zoho Books, from the option to record advances for purchase orders to dynamic lookup fields, all designed to help you stay on top of your finances with ease.
Introducing Change Comparators in Workflow Rules
We’re introducing new comparators in workflow rules that you can add to your criteria. The new options include changes, which triggers when any value changes; changes from, which triggers when a value changes from a specific value; and changes to, which triggers when a value changes to a specific value.
Note: This feature is applicable only to custom modules and supports all field types except Multi-select and Text Box (Multi-line) fields.
HSBC Online Payment for Vendor Batch Payments
We’re introducing HSBC online payments for vendor batch payments, allowing you to pay directly through your HSBC account connected to Zoho Books.
Note: This feature is available only if the Zoho BillPay add-On is enabled for your organization.
Upload Images From Your Desktop to Email Templates
You can now upload images from your desktop to your email templates.
To upload images to email templates, go to Settings > Reminders & Notifications > Email Notifications. Select a template, hover over it, click the dropdown that appears, and select Edit. Then, click the Upload icon and select Upload in the Add Image pop-up that appears.
Apply Line Item Discounts With Avalara Integration [United States and Canada Editions]
We now support line item level discounts for organizations integrated with Avalara. You can apply discounts directly to individual line items, and Avalara will accurately calculate taxes based on the discounted amounts.
Apply Credits Applied On Date to Bills
We now support the Credits Applied On date when applying Vendor Advances, Excess Payments, and Vendor Credits to Bills. This allows users to record the credits applied on these transactions on a future date later than the original posting dates. When the Credits Applied On toggle is enabled, the Credits Applied On field will display the recent date of the Bill or Payment Date/Vendor Credit Date.
Support for Local Taxes [Mexico Edition]
You can now create local taxes that are managed by State and Municipal authorities and not directly by the federal tax authority of Mexico (SAT) in your Zoho Books organization. These local taxes can be either transfer or retention types, depending on how the specific tax is applied.
To create local taxes, go to Settings > Taxes & Compliance > Taxes > Tax Rate. Click + New Tax, enter the Tax Name and Rate, select the Tax Type as Local Tax, and then click Save.
Exclude Optional Fields When Pushing E-Invoice [India Edition]
You can now choose to exclude optional fields when pushing your e-Invoice to the IRP.
To exclude optional fields, go to Settings > Taxes & Compliance > Taxes > e-Invoicing. Click Configure next to Configure optional fields for e-invoice push. Select the optional fields you want to exclude, then click Save.
Dynamic lookup fields
You can filter the records to be displayed in the lookup custom fields. Only the records that match with the criteria that you define when you create the custom field will be displayed. Additionally, we’ve introduced the Show Source Module Records Independently option. If selected, the lookup filters records based on the criteria set. If no criteria are set, it shows all the module records.
For example, if you're creating a lookup for the Invoice module within the Sales Order module and want to filter invoices by Customer Name, you can set that as a criterion. If the Show Source Module Records Independently option is enabled, the field will display all invoices, regardless of the selected customer. If it's disabled, the field will initially appear blurred and will populate only after a customer is selected in the Sales Order, showing invoices related to that specific customer.
Other Feature Enhancements
- When transactions are grouped in reports, you now have the option to display only the total value for each group, hiding the individual transactions within it. This feature applies only to the Receivables Summary, Receivables Details, Payables Summary, and Payables Details reports.
- We’ve introduced language support for Filipino and Bahasa Melayu in Zoho Books. You can now use the application in either of these languages.
We hope you like the new features and enhancements in Zoho Books! Take some time to explore the latest updates. We’ll be back next month with even more updates, as we continually strive to elevate your accounting experience.
Best regards,
The Zoho Books Team
