Hello Everyone! Mid-September vibes: fresh tips, smart hacks, and practical Zoho CRM updates all in one place. Let’s dive in.
Product Updates:
The new Address field type makes it easier to capture complete addresses in one structured field, replacing the need for multiple fields like street, city, and state, and reducing free-text entries. It brings together all key components such as country, city, street, zip code, and coordinates into a single organized field, while still allowing users to filter, search, and report on each part individually. The field includes built-in global country and state sets, automatic dependency handling, and validation preferences to maintain data accuracy. This feature is currently available for IN DC. Read the post for detailed information on this update and follow to stay informed about the upcoming DC-specific rollout.
Profile-Based Control for Microsoft Office 365 Integrations!
Admins can now manage who can enable Microsoft integrations for Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks in Zoho CRM with new profile-based permissions. Previously, all users could activate these integrations regardless of their role, resulting in limited administrative control. With this update, admins can enable or disable Microsoft sync access at the profile level, ensuring only authorized users can connect and manage data between CRM and Office 365. This enhancement is available across all paid editions except CN DC. Read the full post for configuration details, permissions overview, and detailed screenshots.
Canvas now includes a Grid component with uniform cells as reference points for placing images, text, and data, keeping layouts proportional and consistent with less manual adjustment. It maintains visual balance through gutter spacing, and breakpoint widths help ensure responsiveness, including support for nested grids. A new Tab Focus Direction setting also lets you control whether the cursor moves left to right or top to bottom when tabbing through fields, making navigation more intuitive. Quick Wins:
Quick Access to Campaign-Linked Deals!
@David M wanted a “Show my campaign’s deals” button that opens the Deals module already filtered to the deals related to the specific Campaign record, and yes, it’s feasible with some setup. @Haiku Technical Support confirmed it can be done by passing filter parameters through a Client Script button, a Custom Related List link, or a Widget. This lets users viewing a campaign jump straight to all related deal records tied to that campaign, avoiding the limitations of the related list. Check out the post for the implementation ideas.
No More “Variable Type” Errors!
@Brady ran into a common issue while trying to auto-update Event fields, an error caused by mismatched variable types. The fix, shared by @Hugh Marshall, is simple. Just map your fields correctly using the # key to insert dynamic values. If you face a similar error, this small step can help resolve it quickly. Take a look at the post for details!
How to Build Reports with Multiple Child Modules?
@Jules wanted to know if it’s possible to create a CRM report or chart that includes two child modules under the same parent. While CRM doesn't allow linking multiple child modules directly in one report, @Haiku Technical Support suggested creating the two reports independently and then joining them when saving the second report to achieve this. Jules appreciated the solution and planned to try it out. Check out the post to see the full solution shared by Haiku.
Developers Corner:
Load PO Date Field with Current Date in Zoho CRM
While automating Purchase Orders, @Ruben ran into common date format errors in Deluge, like “UnParsable date” and “INVALID_DATA.” Thanks to @Rodger for pointing out the issue with incorrect formatting, the fix was simple: use zoho.currentDate.toString("yyyy-MM-dd"). This highlights how crucial it is to use the proper ISO date format when working with dates. Check out the post for details!
Quick Ways to Create Leads from Dashboard!
@Travis wanted to know if it’s possible to add a “Create Lead” button directly on the Zoho CRM Dashboard instead of navigating to the Leads module first. Community experts suggested a few efficient workarounds: using the Quick Create option to add leads from any page, setting up a Kiosk button on the CRM Home page for instant access, or leveraging Client Script Commands to assign a keyboard shortcut that opens the lead creation form directly. This is especially handy when capturing info during live calls. Check the post for details on each method!
