Allocating a salesman to a particular business customer
Giving users the option to commit stock or not because many customers request a quote then never buy, so if a salesman does not follow up the stock remains committed. As we don't physically move an item to a "committed" location, when someone looks at physical inventory they do not know that the item is committed and continue to sell a product to someone else, only for the person who the stock was committed for earlier, to come back and buy, causing a problem with inventory.
Send reminders to users to follow up on Sales Orders after some time
Discounts as a nominal figure, not only percentage
Customer VAT number field on the same level as company name and address, instead of a work around like creating a custom field
Business customer account number generation.
Some items not requiring a customers name and address. We sell car parts, some parts, such as an engine, are under warranty with serial number and the warranty is not transferable so having the customers name is important. However, some items are not important, like a pint of oil, and a customers name is not important, so we could create a customer as "Cash Sale", however if the order contains an engine then the system should not permit the user to conclude the sale until a customers details are entered.
Make it possible to associate a user with a branch so that the system automatically selects items in that users branch.
Sync images with Shopify
Ability to tell which item in shopify an inventory item links to
Duplicate/clone custom views on filters
Sync stock qty of 2 items - in the motor industry you might have a part that fits 2 different vehicles but the name of the item is important to the customer. For example a Hyundai D4BH cylinder head and a Mitsubishi 4D56T cylinder head are the same, if I give a customer who wants a D4BH an invoice that reads 4D56T he will assume he is getting the incorrect item.
Prevent selling of an item at a branch even if there is stock at another branch
Ability to set a minimum selling price and prevent selling of items below the minimum
On SO/PO/INVOICE/BILL moving items with drag and drop is not smooth, possible to have clickable arrows?
Price lists - system only provides an option to Markup/Markdown the item rate for Sale or Purchase price that have been set at item overview. The problem here is that when the purchase rate in item overview becomes outdated, the price list set (eg markup) for Sales is redundant. It would be better if the price list for Sales (eg Markup) is based on the most recent purchase price .
Billable Bills - Default Markup Percentage - we start the process with Sales Order, so it does not help if the markup comes into effect at "Bills"
The buying and selling price on product overview is a problem because, if I understand correctly, the product sales report uses the purchasing price that is entered when the product is created to determine the margin which does not make sense because the purchasing price was initially entered 2 years ago it has most likely changed due to rising costs.
POS - why no point of sale?
Bigin - why do direct integration with Bigin, I have to spend resources on Zoho Bigin to get it to integrate with Inventory but it's not straight forward.
There are other items that I would like to address in a follow up post.
