Tiny Tip Tuesday #29
Response Bias in Surveys - II In our previous tip, we discussed yes/acquiescence bias. The second type of response bias is the demand characteristics bias, where the results of a study are biased due to the experimenters' expectations creating an implicit demand for the participants to perform as expected. This bias is common in surveying and is caused when respondents are influenced by the knowledge that they are part of a study. The tendency to respond to the survey with preset expectations results

Selection Bias in Surveys - I Selection bias in surveys is when you accidentally create an answer pattern in your survey that users detect and follow, thereby distorting your actual data. How can you fix this? Here are two ways: Question randomization Answer randomization We'll talk about question randomization in this month's tip. Why should you randomize your survey questions? As we mentioned earlier, question randomization helps minimize selection bias, which helps you achieve more accurate data,

Response Bias in Surveys - I In our past few tips, we learned about selection bias and its effect in surveys. Another type of bias that occurs is when respondents provide false responses or answer untruthfully in a survey. This is called response bias. Our next few tips will focus on ways to minimize response bias and how to create surveys that are reliable. Response bias tip #1: Dealing with the "Yes/Acquiescence" bias You've probably come across respondents who answer "yes" or agree to any question

Folder categorization on Survey
Hi, Are you able to add some kind of categorization/classification for surveys? Every survey in the department just appears in the same huge list and some categorization is needed.
Can the default date format be set to dd/mm/yyyy or yyyy/mm/dd?
This is essential for many non USA regions. Trying to work with the illogical american mm/dd/yyyy format is driving me nuts and renders Zoho Books almost unusable. Not to mention the fact that dates on documents become incorrect eg Invoice dated 10th May reads as 5th October in countries where we don't use the american format.
Lost Logic when a Page is added
I have created a Survey and tested the Logic and it worked fine. I then added a page and moved questions from one page to another. In doing this I lost the logic for the questions that had been moved from one page to another. I have set the Logic in the question but when I Preview the questions they now do not work. Is this a problem with Survey that once you move questions between pages it does something to the Logic? The Survey has over 50 questions with lots of Logic and I was hoping to get this
ZOHO Survey Page Scoring Total Data Pushed To ZOHO CRM
Hi, I have set up a Health Questionnaire in Survey and need to push the data into my CRM. The data that I need to be able to push is "Page Total Scoring". Total scoring won't work for me as I have different assessments on each page. Please advise.
Tiny Tip Tuesday #27
Selection Bias in Surveys - II In our previous tip, we discussed how question randomization works and how it helps minimize selection bias in surveys. How do you find out if your data is biased? A systematic error is the key; you'll notice a pattern your answers have been following. You might also see your respondents showing a tendency to agree to whatever you are asking. You can avoid this by not asking leading questions. Selection bias or selection effect can distort your survey data and leave
Zoho Survey Custom Domain
Hi, I'm looking at potentially domain mapping Zoho Surveys to our company domain, however I have a few questions to ask before I go ahead with this: If we map to a new domain, what happens to all the links we have out currently mapped to survey.zoho.eu? Will they still link to the survey and do they become null and void? With CRM integration we currently have email templates that link our Deals module to Surveys for gathering responses, will CRM automatically change the mapped merge link to the

Sentiment Analysis: All You Need to Know Surveys are tools that measure the sentiment of a group. Let's imagine you want to run a survey that will go out to a large audience, and you want to know how they feel about an event you just organized. With such a huge number of participants, it might not be possible for you to read and analyze all the descriptive answers you'll receive. However, it's necessary for you to go through them in detail to understand the real sentiment of your group. This is where

Using surveys in our day-to-day lives Tiny Tip Tuesdays are back after a short break! Let's take a look at a few situations where surveys can make your day-to-day lives much easier. Question logic to work across pages
To whom it may concern, Our survey is to designed to help capture scientific data and trends in order to determine the extent of a major Australian virus. At present there is no known statistics collected by government or researchers on the incidence of virus contraction for the majority of circumstances, as the government only allow a very narrow set of circumstances to be taken into consideration. This means that the statistics on the number of people who are actually infected, is potentially much

Tiny Tip Tuesday #22
Arrange your questions smartly Question Order While questions can go in any order you'd like, you'll do your respondents a favor by grouping similar questions together. If you have a bunch of questions that use a scale or are all on the same topic, it's better to combine those questions into one section of the survey, rather than spreading them out. This helps your respondents answer more efficiently, since all of the items are related and relevant to each other. Grouping like questions helps improve

Automated Emails to Part Completed Survey Participants
Hi there, I would like to suggest a possible functionality addition to ZOHO survey. All of our surveys begin with asking the user to fill out their key details, email, full name etc. on the first page. We are finding that there are a lot of participants are completing this part of the survey and then they are not completing the full survey. I was wondering if there's anyway that ZOHO can create an auto-reminder function to send an email to those who partially completed the survey (using the email
Pass the name of the survey to zoho crm and have it stored in a field on the leads module?
I'm sorry for having a brain fart! I'm sure this is something simple and I'm just missing it. Our surveys are Event or Group specific. When someone fills out the survey, I have it set to integrate with zoho crm and pass all the data into our leads module, which it does! These are the answers to the questions however. I need the title of the survey to also be stored in the leads module. Please help and thank you! :)
Using #hashtags
Is it possible to use (searchable) #hashtags in Survey in order to be able to categorize certain responses? #Hashtags may be useful for mentioning and tracking topics, issues, themes, etc. especially for analyzing collected data over long periods of time. I could not find a field in the Survey builder for it.
How to display email field on survey end page?
Hi, I'm preparing a survey as a game. I would like most people to play and only at the end of the game to get their full result by email. I didn't find any way to do that in survey. Is it possible ? The thing is the end page doesn't seem to have a lot of option except the usual "insert variable" or "link". Is anyone Has tried this before?

Multiple ways to reach your survey audience Creating a good survey is only part of the job. To make it effective you need to send it out to the relevant people through their preferred medium. Here is how you do it: Survey campaigns via emails: Upload
Randomize question order
Randomizing question order is sometimes very important in reducing the impact of 'order effects'. If for example you want ratings for 3 different products, each time asking the same questions, you would want the order shuffled randomly to cancel out order bias effects (at least at aggregate level).
Tiny Tip Tuesday #5
Know your audience As you exercise caution while writing survey questions by keeping things short and optional, it's equally important to know your audience. Take time to research the group you'll be addressing and send them personalized invites while also ensuring their privacy. Consider formulating questions from their point of view to make them feel seen and heard. Respect their time, and be polite. As we previously discussed the importance of stating the survey goals, it's always best to communicate
Slider Scale
I want to ask a question with a slider type response. the question is "How much should xxxxxxx cost?" i want to pre-populate the options and give a price option of $0 on the low end and $5000 on the high end. i can create a slider where the labels show $0 on the low end and $5000 on the high end (with $2500 in the middle)... but the 'help' icon which hovers above the slider indicates either a numeric or percentage value between 0 - 100... which is misleading b/c the scale should be $0 - $5000.

Pushing survey data into other applications You've sent out your survey and started collecting the responses. Now comes the most important part. Analyzing it. What do you do with the responses collected? How do you make the most of the feedback or information gathered? Zoho Survey gives you the ability to create customized reports from the feedback gathered. You can apply conditions and view specific and relevant feedback. For example, with conditions you can view only the responses of people who

Go offline with your surveys When you're at events or out on the field, the internet might not be reliable. At times like this, it's useful to have an offline link to your survey. With this, you will be able to collect feedback and upload it when you're back online. How do you do this? Zoho Survey, along with other publishing options, provides you an option to enable an offline link for your survey. To set up the offline survey, all you need to do is set a password for your survey, which
Tiny Tip Tuesday #17
Collaborate over surveys Sometimes it takes a team effort to create and analyze the best surveys. When a single person creates a survey, you can forget an important question or not put it across effectively. That's why it's always good to have your surveys proofread. Analyzing a report also becomes more accurate when multiple people are doing it. Here are a few ways to collaborate: Invite reviewer : Give access to people to go through your survey and leave comments for you to consider. However, they
