Understand Application Activity

What Does This Page Cover?

Learn about Application Activity Dashboard and how it makes it easier to analyze and monitor the usage statistics across applications in a single platform. Learn more about the Metrics dashboard.

Availability

  1. Metrics is available in the United States (.com), Europe (.eu), Australia (.au) and India (.in) data centers.
  2. Metrics will be available only in the Creator 6 version of Zoho Creator.

Overview

This is an extensive dashboard that captures usage statistics of all applications based on users' access and hits in the live mode. Accumulate statistics on how your apps are performing over different time periods, and use them to optimize the app and improve productivity.

By default, the statistics will be shown for all users. If needed, you can filter and view the statistics based on
  • All users Usersportal users, and public users.
  • Users Users, and public users.
  • Portal users - Only Portal users.


Assume a organization
Zylker uses multiple of Creator applications, like Employee Management, HR management, Project tracker etc., for its day to day activities. Now, let's get a glimpse of all the information the admins can track with this dashboard.

Snapshot

Applications accessed

Applications that were accessed within the selected time frame.

 

Click on the card to get the list of applications accessed.

Idle applications

Applications that were not accessed in the selected time frame.

Click on the card to view list of idle applications and notify the users of the applications.

Application hit count

Total hits captured across applications accessed within the selected time frame.

This KPI helps understand how good or bad is the usage of your applications.

Daily average hits per application

Average number of hits made in an application per day.

 

Application access trend

Line chart highlighting the trend of applications accessed over time.

 

This chart helps to view changes(like spikes or anomalies) in the usage of the applications.

Usage by hit count

Instantly know the top and least five accessed applications based on hit count.

 

 

 

Application trend by hit count

A bar chart stacked with the applications accessed based on hit count.  

It helps in comparing the usage among applications over time.

 

Note: By default, it will stack the top 10 applications accessed . If needed, you can use the multi-select filter and view other applications.

 

 

 


Note: 

  • The percentage difference will be shown for the first four cards, namely, Applications accessed, Idle applications, Application hit count, and Daily avg hits per app. This will be a comparison between the previous time period of the one selected in the date filter.
  • For example, assume you are in April 2023, and you have selected the past 3 months filter. Now, all the metrics inside the dashboard will be for the period of Jan to March 2023. The percentage difference will be calculated by comparing Jan to March 2023 with Oct to Dec 2022.
  • In the Application access trend chart, percentage difference in each marker  point  denotes  the comparison with previous marker point.


Based on the choice of time period you made in the date filter, you'll be able change view of your charts for further drill down of the statistics. Read more


Applications accessed 

Applications accessed page
This page can be accessed by clicking the Applications accessed card. It will provide a list of applications accessed, with number of users accessed and total hits captured against each application. You can also search for a particular app using the search bar at the top of the Applications accessed page. 

A filter to select all users, users, and portal users is available here as well. Changing the filter here will not affect the Application Activity page. 


Idle applications

Idle applications page
This page can be accessed by clicking the Idle applications card. It will provide a list of applications that were not accessed in the selected time frame where you can choose to notify all the users of the application.


Click the 
Notify button beside the application's name to send an email notification to all the users of the application about their idleness.
