You can associate an action to each dashboard element to add interactivity. The different types of actions that you can associate to an element include:
To associate an Open url action to an element of a panel:
- Click to select a text, image or button element to associate the open url action.
- In the slider menu on the right, select Action.
- Under Action, click Open url.
- In the Url section, specify a URL to be opened.
- In the Open in section, choose between:
- New window: Opens the associated resource in a new window.
- Same window: Opens the associated resource in the same window.
- Popup: Opens the associated resource in a popup window.
- Click to select a text, image or button element to associate the open form action.
- In the slider menu on the right, select Action.
- Under Action, click Open form.
- In the Select Form section, select the form to be opened. The list shows all the forms in the current application you are working in.
- To choose a form in another application: Click the Change App option.
- In the Application popup, select the application that holds the form to be embedded. Click Done.
- In the slider menu on the right, under the Form section select the form to be opened.
- Under the Query parameters section, enter a parameter.
- In the Open in section, choose between:
- New window: Opens the associated form in a new window.
- Same window: Opens the associated form in the same window.
- Popup: Opens the associated form in a popup window.
To associate an Open report action to an element of a panel:
- Click to select a text, image or button element to associate the open report action.
- In the slider menu on the right, select Action.
- Under Action, click Open report.
- In the Select Report section, select the report to be opened. The list shows all the reports in the current application you are working in.
- To choose a report in another application, Click the Change App option.
- In the Application popup, select the application that holds the report to be embedded. Click Done.
- In the slider menu on the right, under the Report section select the report to be opened.
- Under the Query parameters section, enter a parameter.
- In the Open in section, choose between:
- New window: Opens the associated report in a new window.
- Same window: Opens the associated report in the same window.
- Popup: Opens the associated report in a popup window.
To associate an Open page action to an element of a panel:
- Click to select a text, image or button element to associate the open page action.
- In the slider menu on the right, select Action.
- Under Action, click Open page.
- In the Select Page section, select the page to be opened. The list shows all the pages in the current application you are working in.
- To choose a page in another application, Click the Change App option.
- In the Application popup, select the application that holds the page to be embedded. Click Done.
- In the slider menu on the right, under the Page section select the page to be opened.
- Under the Query parameters section, enter a parameter.
- In the Open in section, choose between:
- New window: Opens the associated page in a new window.
- Same window: Opens the associated page in the same window.
- Popup: Opens the associated page in a popup window.
To associate an Execute function action to an element of a panel:
- Click to select a text, image or button element to associate the execute function action.
- In the slider menu on the right, select Action.
- Under Action, click Execute function.
- In the Select function section, select the custom function to be executed. The list shows all the custom functions in the current application you are working in.
- To choose custom function in another application, Click the Change App option.
- In the Application popup, select the application that holds the custom function to be executed. Click Done.
- In the slider menu on the right, under the Function section select the page to be opened.
- If your custom function has arguments defined, you can pass a value for it.
- Enter a Success message to be returned on the successful execution of the function.
To remove any action associated with an element of a panel:
- Click to select a text, image or button element to remove it's associated action.
- In the slider menu on the right, select Action.
- Under Action, click Execute None.
