Calendar Connection Enhancement

We're here to announce an important Calendar enhancement that will roll out soon. Let's take a look at what's being changed.

 

Improved and more straightforward UI 

The Calendars UI is undergoing a complete revamp. While you currently have to add calendars under Integration and manage them under My Profiles > Manage Calendar, you will soon be able to find all calendar settings under Integration > Calendars. The following image shows the new UI.


 

Staff manage their own calendars 

With the forthcoming update, admins do not need to add or manage staff calendars. Staff will have a Calendar Connections section on the menu bar, through which they can add and manage their own calendars. However, admins can still view staff calendars under the Staff menu option.

 

Note that a staff member can add Zoho CRM Calendar only if:

  1. The admin has integrated Zoho CRM Calendar, and

  2. The staff member has been added to the Zoho CRM org.

 


 

No more duplicate invitations 

We've modified the invitation option so appointments can only be added to one calendar. This way, multiple invitations aren't sent to the customer. Note that this change is for new customers. Existing customers will continue to use their configured calendars as before; however, maintaining a single calendar for appointments is recommended.

 


 

Notifications for sync breaks 

A calendar sync could be affected due to many reasons, such as calendar deletion, password change, or permission revocation. If this happens, you will receive immediate notifications so you can re-sync as necessary. The Bookings system will send you three types of notifications:

  1. An in-product notification

  2. An email notification with step by step instructions

  3. Visual cues that help you track sync failure, as shown in the picture below (Integration > Calendars > Zoho Calendar)


This update ensures any sync breaks are addressed quickly.

 

Zoho Calendar instant sync 

Appointments will instantly sync with Zoho Calendar after this update.

  Note: This enhancement will be rolled out phase by phase over the next week for all the customers.
