Calendar events sent to my Zoho email address going to GMail

Calendar events sent to my Zoho email address going to GMail

I have GMail linked to my email as a backup.
Most of the time whenever a calendar event is created and sent to my Zoho email address it will show up only in my GMail account and not Zoho, and it will be addressed to my GMail address. Then whenever I open the event it shows only my GMail address as the recipient and my Zoho address is nowhere on the event.

I have asked the event creator if they meant to send to my GMail address and they say that they sent to my Zoho address.

How do I fix this without removing the GMail sync?
