Dependencies or Subtasks

I have a main task, with 10 sub tasks.

I do not want anyone to be able to mark the main task as complete, until all the sub tasks are complete.

is the only way to do this via dependencies?

and if yes, then is there a way to bulk set all the sub tasks to be the predecessor or the main task?
