Hello, all!
We are back with a new update on the Tasks module that simplifies task ownership management. There are five handy options to delegate tasks in a project and let's see them below.
Select one or more tasks to enable the Bulk Update checkbox, click on the Owner field to find all the additional options.
1. Replace Owners
Consider a task that has 3 owners from the development team assigned to it. Due to a change in the project process, the project owner wants to handover the task to the senior engineers from the team. Select the 'Replace Owners' option and choose the new owners to be added to the task.
When you want to replace all the users with a new set of users, then go for the 'Replace Owners' option.
2. Add Owners
While retaining the existing owners of a task, you can still include some more users using ‘Add Owners’ at any time.
3. Switch Task Owner
Let's say there are 5 people working on the task 'Web Design'. The user Kathy wants to exit from this task and take up another piece of work. Now, we can select 'Switch Task Owner' option, choose 'Kathy' and switch them over with Jacob.
4. Unassign Tasks
Are you thinking of leaving the task unassigned for any particular reason? You are just one click away. Select 'Unassign Tasks' to remove current users and leave it unassigned.
5. Unassign Selected Owners
At times, we might have to take off some owners who are not required from a task. Select 'Unassign Selected Owners' option, choose the user you want to detach as task owners and update the changes.
