I'm trying to add an additional item to a composite item and the system will not allow me to complete this task, I keep getting the error message:
"Items associated with a composite item cannot be updated if the composite item has been boxed or unboxed"

If I have to create this composite item again this will create another issue because the system will not allow me to delete the existing composite item, when I try I get the following message:
"Items which are a part of other transactions cannot be deleted. Instead, mark them as inactive"

If I follow the advice of the instruction and mark the composite item as 'inactive' then it is only listed in the Inactive Composite Items which is ok, however it is still listed in the Inventory Items list which is a problem.
This means I cannot delete or remove the inactive composite item from the inventory list so it will still be visible in reports. Also this will create confusion in the future because there is potential to add many composite products with the same name.
The simplest solution would be to have the ability to add to the existing composite item or have the ability to delete composite items that are no longer required.
If I purchase this system I need to know it can be used for a long period of time, I do not want to have to change inventory systems after 6 months because of this type of limitation.
Please advise if there is a method to do any of the following:
- Add an item to an existing composite item that has already been boxed/unboxed
- Delete a composite item that has already been boxed/unboxed
- Remove a composite item from the inventory list to an inactive inventory item list so it does not appear in the All Items list
I really hope these issues can be resolved because the Inventory interface is a pleasure to work with and it is very intuitive.
