Introducing Canvas: A no-code design studio available in CRM Plus

Hello everyone,
 
We have created Canvas for CRM, the industry's first design studio which can help you build an amazing user interface without having to type a single line of code. You can now access Canvas as part of your CRM Plus subscription.

Now I've piqued your interest, I'd like to give you a comprehensive overview of Canvas.

What is Canvas?

It is a no-code, drag-and-drop design studio built into CRM, where you can design the record details page exactly the way you want it. You can add required fields, change the background, add more buttons, change fonts, colors, and sizes, add text, icons, and a lot more with Canvas.

Customizing the record details page using Canvas

In Zoho CRM, navigate to Setup > Customization > Canvas Builder to start designing data views for your CRM modules. You can create up to 25 Canvas views for each module.

Pre-designed templates

Canvas offers a range of pre-designed templates that can be used to easily customize your record details page. You can also use the templates as a starting point and make changes to re-design them for your requirements. 

Easy to use canvas builder

The Canvas Builder has all the components on the left-hand side, which can be added to the record details page with a simple drag and drop. 


The components of the Canvas Builder are arranged in three sections: Data, Elements, and Style.

Data: This section consists of all the fields that can be added to the details page such as First Name, Last Name, Email, Lead Owner, and Lead Source. You can also find Related Lists, section buttons such as Edit, Clone, and Send Email, Links, and Buttons. And don't worry, there is a search field you can use to find a specific field from the list.


Elements: Just adding your data to a plain white space will not make it easy for you to identify the data that you need. That's why we have Elements, which include all the design components that can be added to the layout such as Sections, Tabs, Tables, Text, Icons, and Lines. These elements help you group and organize your data into different blocks which makes it easy to find the information you are looking for at a quick glance.


Style: This section lets you customize the various elements and fields that you have added to the Canvas Builder. You can change the font, font size, background color, border, shadow, radius, padding, margin, change background image, and a lot more. The options are dynamic and will change based on the element that you want to customize.


These three sections offer everything that you need to customize the record details page in the Canvas Builder.

How do I select a Canvas view?

You can select the Canvas view from the Record detail page views dropdown at the bottom of the details page. You can click Create a custom record page to create a new Canvas view. You can also set a default Canvas details page for each profile.
