Zoho Desk offers a multilingual Help Center, and our goal is to support a multitude of languages so you can provide a well-rounded customer support experience to your customers, regardless of the language they speak. Keeping this in mind, we've introduced Portuguese as an additional language. This is in addition to the Brazilian Portuguese already available on Zoho Desk.
Change in Language Code
The introduction of Portuguese required a change in the language code of Brazilian Portuguese that was already available in Zoho Desk. The Brazilian Portuguese, to date, was identified by the code "pt". With Portuguese (native) introduction, we will henceforth identify it by the code "pt" and the Brazilian Portuguese as "pt-br".
Impact and Migration
Existing users who have translated their Help Center content to Brazilian Portuguese will see articles, categories, SEO tags, and custom widgets assigned with the "pt" code. Such users can request us migrate them to "pt-br", their new destination. Once migrated, we also provide 301 redirections from "pt" to "pt-br" for a time until you wish to publish content in native Portuguese (i.e., pt). This ensures that users who request an article in Brazilian Portuguese will be automatically sent to the new URL while preserving their link authority and rankings. Note that we can perform this migration only for articles and category translations.
