Real Time Document Editing

Description of Project Software/Code Needs Hello. Here are details of what I want to accomplish: I sell online legal forms. Take for example a Last Will. Joe is a married man with children and wants to purchase an online Will. I have a standard Word template (also in pdf format) which has approximately ten data variables, including his name, his wife’s name, children, ages in which they will receive their share, executor’s, etc. He goes to my site and the following happens: 1. He fills out an online questionnaire. It has 10 input boxes. 2. In most cases, he would fill out all ten boxes and then hit “Submit”. The word processing engine would then populate the template and the finished product would be e-mail to him for review. But I want to do something a little bit different. When he is filling out the questionnaire, I want him to see the Will being created in real time on the screen. Each time he puts data in the questionnaire box, the Will automatically updates or re-freshes and he sees the changes. 3. While he is doing this, there will be a little prompt which says: “Questions? Chat with us while filling out the form.” I could then answer questions while he prepares it. I believe you already have this in your software. 4. Each questionnaire box will have a hover dialog or cloud which will give a brief explanation of how to fill-out the box. For example: Your name: _______________________ (Hover): “Please insert your full legal name with middle initial. If you have gone by different names, use “aka”. For example: Jonathan M. Smith, aka Jon M. Smith”. 5. He will only be able to see the preparation of the Will and not print it while on my website. 6. When he is done, he will hit a “Submit” button and be redirected to my shopping cart to use his credit card. 7. After the credit card goes through, he will be emailed the Will as an attachment. 8. Very important: I have many forms. Once we have the infrastructure built, I need to be able myself to format the different legal documents. Because I am on a limited budget, I can’t afford to have you custom create each one. Can this be in a “cookie cutte” or template form so I can do other forms myself? The original form templates can either be in Word or PDF format (converted I assume to HTML), whatever is easier for you. If I had my choice, I would prefer to have them in PDF when they are emailed to the customer. But I’ve heard it is difficult to “shrink to fit” blank field boxes or lines in Adobe in the middle of a paragraph. Legal documents cannot have blanks or spaces and so they would have to shrink or enlarge in the middle of a paragraph. In other words, it would look like: “I give to my wife Joan T. Smith, if she survives me, my entire estate.” It cannot look like: “I give to my wife Joan T. Smith , if she survives me, my entire estate.” Please keep this info confidential as I consider my website proprietary. Cliff Malone.
