If you are using Zoho Assist APIs, you're probably familiar with AuthTokens, which is a layer of security that helps in authorizing third-party applications to access Zoho Assist's user accounts.
In the coming months, we will be deprecating support for AuthTokens. This means that if you've used Zoho Assist's APIs that rely on AuthToken authorization to build web-based applications, self-client applications, custom functions, marketplace apps, or third-party apps, they will be unable to retrieve any information after March 31st, 2021.
Instead, you can shift to Zoho OAuthTokens to authorize third-party applications to access Zoho Assist's user accounts. They're more secure than AuthTokens, since user credentials are exchanged for a token and users are authenticated based on those tokens. You can refer to
this document to securely build web-based applications, self-client applications, custom functions, marketplace apps, or third-party apps using Zoho Assist's OauthToken-based APIs.
We understand that these changes might interrupt your operations, but we urge you to switch to OAuth to enjoy a more secure user experience. If you have any questions or concerns related to this, please feel free to post it in the comments below or contact us at support@zohoassist.com.
