Hello crew, Wikipedia announces that Writer can import DOCX documents. I can't. Is there a trick ?

Problem with apostrophe
We have having a problem with an apostrophe when used in contractions. We type: Character education is part of every child's school day and an important part of our district's overall curriculum and I did not find it to be very effective this year. Then we go to a second document. HELP 4 DUMMIES
CANNOT SEEM TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE WORD PROCESSOR. I FINALLY GOT SOME TEXT ON THE SCREEN AND IT DID NOT PRINT OUT AS IT APPEARED ON THE SCREEN. Big file import
Hello - I am trying to import a large *.RTF file into Zoho Writer. It is 4MB. From the Import window the window goes to a 404 error after a time, before the upload is completed. I also tried emailing the file into my account using the email-to-Zoho feature. But it has not appeared (after 15 minutes wait.) Cutting-and-pasting seems to also not work. Regards, John
How to enable Firefox Spell checking?
I can't access the firefox context menu in Zoho Writer's main text area since it is replaced by the Zoho Writer's own menue. Therefore, I am not able to tick the "Spell check this textarea" menue item, nor to change the firefox language dictionaries. I am aware of the Zoho spell check feature, but I'd rather use the firefox addon. Is ist possible? -- markus

how to paste plain text and/or clear formatting?
hi all, i've looked in the forums and scrutinized the toolbars. i cannot for the life of me find a way to paste formatted text as plain text. this issue comes up over and over again. in google docs, there is no way to do it either, but at least one can click on 'clear formatting' after one has pasted it in. if anyone knows how to do this, i would greatly appreciate the information! Microsoft Has A Problem

Extra blank lines between paragraphs
I am using the Zoho Writer Remote API as part of my site. I noticed something strange on a number of occasions. If I have composed a document in Microsoft Word, I can either import it directly into Zoho or copy and paste it into Zoho, and it appears properly. I then save it to our database (as a .odt binary) and reopen it, and it still appears properly. However, when I then save it to our database for a second time and then reopen it, I find that there are now a number of blank lines between paragraphs
Tab spaces disappear when document is imported
I am using the Zoho Writer Remote API as part of my site. Suppose I have a Microsoft Word document that uses tab spaces for lining up columns in a chart. If I copy and paste this into Zoho, I see that my columns are still lined up properly, and that the tab spaces were seamlessly converted into the appropriate number of regular spaces. However, if I import the document into Zoho, I see that the columns are no longer lined up, and that each tab space has been converted into just one regular space.
Display jumps to end of document upon undo
If I undo an operation (either via CTRL-Z or the toolbar button), the view of the document will jump to the end of the file. Annoying as well. (Firefox 2.0.0.12). (Hope you don't get too frustrated, but I think people telling you what goes wrong is of more use for you than people telling you how great your product is - which it is for sure!)
Pasted Text Formatting
For some reason, if I copy text from a web page, document or any other app, and paste it into Writer or Show, I cannot change the Font, the size or any other properties.

My wife is secretary for and organization and we are wondering what most people that use Zoho Writer use to take notes of their meetings. Is there a template or do most just use a 'new' document.

Unable to save new content from opened document in iframe
Hello, I am using zoho remote writer on a php based website. I am able to create a new document, save its contents, reload the page, and then open that previously created document again to view its contents. Lets call this document "test.doc" When I open test.doc from a dropdown box, which is saved on my remote server, it comes up fine in my iframe on the same page as the dropdown box. Typographic quotation marks
I know that I can insert curly typographic quotation marks and apostrophes with the Special Character menu. However that is a rather cumbersome method. It would be nice if I could specify settings so that I get them by default.
some words loses space between them

Not compatible with opera browser
I found some of the functions such as selecting words double clicking and some more are not compatible with Opera. It says something like script execute. Lost Images w/ Plugin
When I add or save a document with images, while using the Zoho plug-in for Microsoft Word, the images disappear when I open the document online. However, when I insert images online, they show up when I reopen the document in Word via the plug-in. Since I do most of my work in Word and not in the online editor, I prefer to insert/edit images in Word- is this possible or is there a bug with the plug-in?
Loss of text although writer seems to save, probably IE?

Hi there, today, I spent two hours in vain editing text in ZoHo Writer. The first hour was in a train, where I used the offline feature of the writer. When I had an Internet connection again, I tried to sync which apparently went right (that's what the GUI pretended at least). Unwanted line feeds inserted on entering collaborative edit
When a second person opens a document for editing, unwanted line feeds are inserted at the boundaries between regions with different formatting, destroying readability and layout. (Firefox 2.0.0.12). See attachment for example: the section was one paragraph without line feeds before the bug occurred.
Download Issue With Google Gears
I'm running OSX 10.3.9 with Firefox 2.0.0.12. When I click "Go Offline" in Zoho Writer, it instructs me to download and install Google Gears. At the end of the download, it tells me to restart Firefox. When I do, Firefox crashes on restart. So I restarted manually. When I went back to Zoho Writer, it still wanted me to download and install Google Gears when I tried to go offline with my doc. Not sure what the issue is, but I'm trying out this program and haven't been all that impressed thus far.
m.zoho.com not showing my documents
in my account I have 2 documents (private only for me). when I login to the web client, I see them. when I login to m.zoho.com from a blackberry or windows mobile 5 device, I do not see any of my documents.

fix for IE6 crashes?
I think that the Zoho apps are awesome! However, the fact that IE6 crashes very consistently whenever a user tries to log into Writer seems like a very significant issue. It's been occurring for almost 2 months now. Will this problem be fixed any time soon? I realize that the problem apparently does not occur with Firefox, but I'd prefer not to have to switch to another browser.
log failed from word
Hello, I can't transfered documents from MS Word because each time I tried to login, it open a window asking me that "An error occured while contacting Zoho Accounts. Pleasetry again in few minutes".
