Zoho OAuth Connector Deprecation and Its Impact on Zoho Desk

Zoho OAuth Connector Deprecation and Its Impact on Zoho Desk

Hello everyone,

Zoho believes in continuously refining its integrations to uphold the highest standards of security, reliability, and compliance. As part of this ongoing improvement, the Zoho OAuth default connector will be deprecated for all Zoho services that support Deluge connections.

This change applies to Zoho Desk and will help create a more secure, consistent, and future-ready integration experience for you.

Overview of the change

The Zoho OAuth default connector was designed to let users authenticate once and access multiple Zoho services with a single connection. The change will let us tackle the growing technical complexity and evolving security requirements, enabling a more stable and secure integration experience. This transition will begin from December 31, 2025. (UPDATE: The timeline has been revised to January 31, 2026).

Recommended approach going forward

For Zoho Desk integrations, we recommend switching to service-specific connectors such as Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, and Zoho Projects. Dedicated connectors are now available for each service and are designed to provide a more controlled and secure authentication experience.

If your use case requires access to scopes from multiple Zoho services within a single connection, a custom connector can be created to support those requirements.

Applicability

This change applies to any Zoho Desk portal that currently uses the Zoho OAuth connector for:

  • Custom functions
  • Integrations
  • Extensions

Timeline and next steps

The transition will take place in stages:

Phase 1

Starting
December 31, 2025, new Zoho OAuth connections cannot be created, and the connector will no longer appear in the default services list. (UPDATE: The timeline has been revised to January 31, 2026).

Phase 2

Existing Zoho OAuth connections will continue to work for a limited period to prevent disruption. These connections will later be deprecated, with advance communication sent to users who are still using them. Zoho currently estimates at least
12 months before the connector is fully retired.

Conclusion

This change is being introduced to strengthen the security and reliability of the Zoho ecosystem. We encourage Zoho Desk users to review and plan the necessary updates. We understand that this transition may involve manual effort. Adequate notice will be provided before the connector is fully retired to allow sufficient time for making the smooth transitioning.
