My company produces food and skin care products out of raw ingredients. The system that we're using now is quite hefty and were hoping that Zoho would help cut down on a lot of things for us. However, I'm having a hard time pinpointing the workflow and steps for a few things having to do with lot traceability. It's imperative to our products as we have organic certifications that require that level of tracking. I've read a bunch of articles, watched some YouTube videos and am still at a complete loss.
I need to be able to not only track the lot number of the finished goods, but the raw materials that go into them also have lot numbers that need to be tracked for traceability. I've tried composite items, bundle items and I'm lost - I can't figure out a solution!
For example, I need to be able to say on 01/01/2024 that I made 10 jars of tea that are assigned the lot number of 123TEA. That specific lot number of finished tea used 1 jar, 1 lid, 1 label, 100 grams of cumin (lot 456C), 100 grams of ginger (lot 789G), and 100 grams of peppermint (lot 012P).
With that being said - I also need to know how much that build/assembly costs in raw materials. The prices of our ingredients do change frequently, especially when shipping is calculated and we use the FIFO method for reporting and accounting for our COGS. I need to keep up on
