Accessing the database from other applications
I would like to be able to access the database portion in another application for linking and display purposes. If this is possible, where and how can I go about doing this. Thanks, dsmit

I tried to do simple changes to my notes, ie., font, size and color changes, but the changes are not reflected in my form. All I have to do is click on edit, make change and save right?
Retail Database
I am trying set up a retail database. For each sale, I need Product Name and Retail Price. I've figured out how to access the Product Name from a lookup menu. How do I get the price to fill in automatically? Thanks

Dear Zoho, Since Zoho doesn't have the ability bulk 'update' records (not append), I am looking at a work around. My zoho database will contain about 3000 records which I obviously will not be able to maintain one by one. The zoho database will contain information from a database I maintain locally. Unable to edit any creator applications
Once I access an application from the creator home page I am unable to make changes (edit, add items, etc.). It's seems as if all functionality is lost! You may access my account and applications if needed to fix the issue. Browser & Operating System: Firefox v2.0.0.11 Windows XP SP2
Forwarding to a new form after submission
Hi, I'd like to know if it is possible to model a workflow of forms to fill in. eg. Form A has only 1 field. In the 'On Success' script, if the value of that field in Form 1 was say 'Yes' then I want the user now to fill in Form 2. Otherwise display and fill in Form 3. Is this possible? Thanks Luke

Look of all Creator apps changed ?
Today when I looked at my app, set up with tabbed layout, it was different looking - the tabs were not tab-shaped color images, instead they are just the text. When you select one of the tabs, the proper page appears but then the text for that tab disappears. I thought it was just my app, but all Zoho sample and shared apps that I tried also showed the same behavior. It's as if the master .css for the Zoho server got borked or something. Any news about this? Also, the small links in the upper right
problem with embedded form and privatelink
I have a problem with the privatelink. Yesterday I created an app and embedded a form (with the privatelink feature enabled so my private app could be accessed by others without logging on). After deployment, it worked fine for several individuals last night. I logged off of Zoho Creator overnight and then this morning, nobody could access the form until I logged back on the Zoho Creator. Is it required that I be logged into Zoho Creator for the privatelink feature to work or is there something else
Background on tabs in creator have vanished
The blue tabs that used to be behind the various views (at the top of the screen) have vanished. Since the text of the active tab is white, you can't see it against the now white background. Can this be fixed? mmcintee

need verification code image does not update
The "need verification code" image on a zoho-created form does not update itself or refresh and show a new image/number when the browser's "back" button is pressed to return to the form entry page. This means automated submissions are still possible simply by simulating a click-back and doing a resubmit because the image is unchanged. ywl0w

I am building a task management DB. I have a task form and a staff form. The task from contains staff member names and e-mail addresses. I have a staff field on the task form so that I can assign a task to them. I would like to send a message to the staff member chosen with the task title in the subject on submission of a new record. I do not know how to select the e-mail since it is in a different form. Can anyone help? Dave

Modifying Records
I am trying to set up an application where users can modify fields in only their own records. I have basic information on individual people. I want them to be able to choose their school division and have their name, job title, and email address to populate in those fields. Returns null when decimal in decimal field
I'm just 1 day into Zoho and encountered problem with field types in deluge script. For currency field: 1.000 is not null (ok) For number field: 1.000 is null (ok) For decimal field: 1.000 is null why? I would like to test if user enters correctly number in format 1.234, before submitting form. And the other strange case is that a user can enter letters into field defined as number/currency I know it is validated later, but allowing is not elegant way. Thanks in advance
Verification code - can we move the position?
Can the position of the verification code be moved to a different location in the form? Currently, the verifcation code is inserted by Creator in the LAST line of the form. salsababies
Can't import into an existing application
I saw a few references by poking around the Zoho site of the ability to import into an existing application. When I look at my application in either access or edit mode, I can't find anything that allows me to do that. Doing either from file or paste would be fine. I used the paste feature when creating the application and it worked amazingly well. Thanks for such a good start on this package.
Why dont Charts allow Formula fields as graphable values?
Hi, I was trying to create a Chart view and found that you need a number/percent type of field in a form before the Chart button is enabled - which makes sense(!), but shouldnt you also be able to use a Formula field as well? The Chart button's not enabled for me when I have only a formula field in a form. But as long as you ensure the formula result is a number that can be graphed then shouldnt it be enabled also? Or am I missing something?
Application not responding
Hello, I'm wondering if I have built my application wrong, I am trying to auto-fill a form with data from another form based on a pick list selection in the first field. I had it working,and I think the script is correct, but after adding all the fields it is no longer working correctly in view mode. I'm wondering if I have too many fields in this form and I am also wondering if I am using the right action for this type of application (on user input, input = temp) or if there is one maybe less intensive?
Creating script to automatically display record in field

Hi Guys, I was just wondering if anyone out there has written some VBA or OOo Basic to export data from a spreadsheet to a Creator app using the API. I understand that data can be imported using the cut and paste on the import option on the relevant from but I am looking for a cleaner method using the API. Copying fields in same form
I was looking for a function that allows me to copy a field in the same form rather than creating a new one. I found this very cumbersome if I was trying to create a table type format. Is there a better way? amol.d

Forms: Need one field choice to determine next fields.
Help! I have two forms, one called Pupils containing fields YG (year group), Form, and PupilName. The second form (Pathways) contains YG, Form and PupilName. The idea is that when selecting the YG field in Pathways it will provide a list in the Form field of all the forms in that Year, when a Form is selected i need a list of all the pupils in that form to appear. I have tried and failed to do this so far. :(

Hi, I'm new to this, and I am trying to create a process whereby a user on my site will be able to select a list of company names from a drop down menu, hit enter, then be shown details for that specific company. At that point they would be able to change/edit those values and save the results. Can anyone help? I've been able to load some test data, create a form that pulls in the company list, but that is where I am stuck. Thanks in advance!
Lookup Question
I am trying to create a movie inventory list. My Movie Inventory form has these Fields Picture Title Genre Description I want to be able to have the movies listed in and then displayed on a form. This form will be kind of like a order form. The user checks off each movie that they want. But I want them to see all the movies with all information. After they hit submit I want a email sent to me. I have been trying to do this with a look up field however it only displayes the one coloumn of information.
