Why can't I copy Zoho format files (.zdoc, .zsheet, .zshow) within the sync folder?

There are two types of file formats in Zoho WorkDrive: universal file formats (.docx, .xlsx, .pdf, etc.), and files in Zoho formats (.zdoc, .zsheet, and .zshow.). While files from the former set of formats can be created anywhere, files from the latter can only be created via Zoho applications such as Writer, Sheet, and Show.

While syncing, files in Zoho formats will be downloaded as links or shortcuts, and files in other formats will be downloaded to your computer in their actual file format.

You cannot copy Zoho format files to other folders as they will break the file link and it will not be valid.

When you try to copy a Zoho format file into the sync folder, the action will not be completed, and you’ll be shown the following message:

Note:

While you can’t copy a Zoho format file into the sync folder, you may move a Zoho format file from one folder to another as long as you have the required permissions.
