Assigning a connected gateway to an asset

In a Zoho IOT application, an asset must be linked to a device (gateway or smart sensor type) to start receiving data. This connection is established through the "Connected Gateway" field, which defines the specific device associated with the asset. It is important to note that each asset can be associated with only one device at a taime.

Assigning a gateway while creating an asset

When creating an asset in a Zoho IOT application, it can be linked to a device using the "Connected Gateway" field in the new asset form. However, it is essential that the device be selected in already created in the application.

Assigning/reassigning a gateway after asset creation

If the asset has already been created, users can link the device or change the connected gateway device.

To associate a device as the gateway for an asset,

Access the End Application.
Select Assets in the left pane. This will open the assets list view.
Check the box adjacent to the asset name you want to associate with a device. For this illustration, an asset: DG CH002 is selected.
Click the Associate Gateway button that appears.
Click the Gateway icon in the pop-up.
Select the required gateway from the drop-down list and click Associate. For this illustration, a device: DGW CH002 is selected.
Click Associate in the pop-up box.

The asset will now have the selected device as the connected gateway.
