A row in a grid is what is referred to as a record. Each record of the table holds information about a particular item on a list.
For example: If you maintain a 'Tour Planner,' each record is a 'different tourist spot' with information denoting its specialty, weather, routes of travel, and so on. In the case of 'Applicant Tracking,' each record is a 'different applicant' with their contact details, resume and other information.
