Editing a command template

A Command template can be edited only in the developer application, and modifications are limited to the parsing key and c
ommand status.

All Command operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.

To edit a command template,
  1. Access the Developer Application.
  2. Select Asset or Devices or Location in the left pane based on the model to which you want to import the datapoint template. For this illustration, Device is selected.
  3. Click the name of the model you want to add the Command Template to. For this illustration, the device model Smart Equipment is considered.



  4. Select Commands in the left pane. This will open the command templates list view.



  5. Check the box near the name of the command template you want to edit and click the Edit button that appears. For this illustration, the command template Smart Device ON/OFF is selected.



  6. Make the necessary changes. For this illustration, the parsing key is changed to "power_status."



  7. Click Update.
The new parsing key will be updated to the command template and reflected across all the commands in instances created from the selected model.
