Deleting an instance specific datapoint
Unlike Datapoints based on Datapoint templates, instance specific datapoints can be deleted from an instance (Device, Asset, or Location)
All Datapoint operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.
Datapoint Dependency: If a datapoint is utilized in configuring alarm rules or other computational datapoints, it becomes a dependency for those elements. You must first remove the corresponding alarm rules and computational datapoints using it. Only then can you delete the instance-specific datapoint.
To delete an instance specific datapoint,
Access the End Application
Select Devices > Devices in the left pane.You can select Assets to add a datapoint template to an asset or Location to add a datapoint template to a location.
Click the name of the instance for which you want to add the instance specific datapoint.For this illustration the device: My RPi is selected.
Click Actions > Datapoint configuration. This opens the datapoint list view.
Check the box next to the datapoint you want to delete and click Delete. For this illustration, the datapoint Room Humidity is selected.
Click Check Dependencies in the Datapoint Deletion validation popup.

Click Delete in the Delete Datapoint pop up.

The instance specific datapoint will now be deleted.
