Disabling a datapoint template

A datapoint template within a model can be disabled to make it and all corresponding datapoints based on it in the instances inactive. This action prevents them from extracting and storing data from received payloads. You can disable a datapoint template while editing it.

All Datapoint operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.

To disable a datapoint template,
  1. Access the Developer Application.
  2. Select Asset or Devices or Location in the left pane based on the model in which you want to disable the datapoint template. For this illustration, a Device is selected.
  3. Select the model name from which the datapoint needs to be deleted. For this illustration, the device model: Home Gateway is considered.



  4. Select Datapoints in the left pane. This will open the datapoints list view.



  5. Hover over the datapoint template you want to edit and click the ellipsis (...) button that appears.



  6. Select Edit from the context menu.



  7. Change the Status to OFF.



  8. Click Update.
The datapoint template and all the datapoints based on it in the instance from the selected mode will no be disabled.
