Editing a datapoint
You can modify the parsing key and datapoint status of any datapoint in a device, asset, or location by editing a datapoint in the end application.
All Datapoint operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.To edit a datapoint,
- Access the End Application.
- Select Devices > Devices in the left pane.You can select Assets to add a datapoint template to an asset or Location to add a datapoint template to a location.
- Click the name of the instance which has the datapoint. For this illustration, the device: My RPi is considered.
- Click Actions > Datapoint configuration. This opens the datapoint list view.
- Check the box next to the datapoint you want to edit and click Edit.
- Update the parsing key as required. For this illustration, the parsing key was changed from "temperature" to "temp_C"
- Click Update.
The changes will be applied only to the datapoint of this specific instance.
