Editing a datapoint

You can modify the parsing key and datapoint status of any datapoint in a device, asset, or location by editing a datapoint in the end application.

All Datapoint operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.

To edit a datapoint,
  1. Access the End Application.
  2. Select Devices > Devices in the left pane.You can select Assets to add a datapoint template to an asset or Location to add a datapoint template to a location.



  3. Click the name of the instance which has the datapoint. For this illustration, the device: My RPi is considered.



  4. Click Actions > Datapoint configuration. This opens the datapoint list view.



  5. Check the box next to the datapoint you want to edit and click Edit.



  6. Update the parsing key as required. For this illustration, the parsing key was changed from "temperature" to "temp_C"



  7. Click Update.
The changes will be applied only to the datapoint of this specific instance.
