Overview
Dashboard is your hub to share and view important updates across your community. With over 50 widgets, it's an ideal place to see forum posts, badges, events, announcements, quick links, images, etc.
How does the dashboard work?
The dashboard collectively displays all relevant updates into one place. Think of it as a bulletin board of your community where you can share news, featured videos, images, and much more. It also gives you an overview of everything happening in your community, from announcements to assigned tasks.
Who can create a dashboard?
Dashboard can be created and customized by the community hosts.
To create one,
Go to Home from the left menu. Click Create Dashboard. Add the required system and custom widgets from the left side menu. Click Preview and Publish. Click Publish to enable the dashboard for everyone.
Members can view the dashboard only if it is published.
Widgets are the building blocks of your dashboard. You can easily drag and drop them to customize your view. In CommunitySpaces, you have two types of widgets- custom widgets and system widgets.
Custom widgets- These allow you to share static information like text, images, and videos.
For example, use the gallery widget to share pictures from a community event or your pet's picture on your dashboard. System widgets- These allow you to view real-time data from your community.
For example, the My Tasks widget will show the tasks assigned to you.
You can add a custom widget to your dashboard as many times as you like, but a system widget can only be added once.
Who can edit the dashboard?
By default, only hosts can edit and publish the dashboard for everyone. However, hosts can allow specific users to add or edit widgets if needed.
How to enable the dashboard?
Only hosts can enable or disable the dashboard for the community.
Click the gear icon in the right menu. Go to Settings. Click Manage Apps under Apps and Features. Scroll to Dashboard and toggle the button to enable/disable it.
Hosts will have access to the dashboard even if it's in disabled state.
How to edit and publish a dashboard
