How do I Register for 10DLC?

A 10-digit long code (10DLC) is the industry-standard long code solution for Application-to-Person (A2P) business messaging. Learn more about how 10DLC can help your business messaging

What are the steps needed to comply with 10DLC registration? 

  • Registering your brand.

  • Registering your campaign along with use cases (Make sure that prohibited use cases are not used in your campaign).

  • Associating the long code to your campaign.

The following use cases are prohibited in 10DLC:

  • Sexual or pornographic material

  • Abusive or harassing language

  • Firearms or fireworks

  • Alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs

  • High-risk financials (loans or loan forgiveness, credit repair, debt collection, tax-related content, or cryptocurrency-related content including one-time passwords)

  • Gambling

  • Investment opportunities

  • Unsolicited real estate inquiries

  • Multi-level marketing (MLM)

  • Receiving or sending one-time passwords from or on behalf of other service providers

  • Website references to SEO services, which carriers consider a form of lead generation
  • Lead generation and Affiliate marketing

Note: Using any of these prohibited use cases will result in campaign rejection.

How to register for 10DLC?

In Zoho Voice, all the required details are collected in a single registration form, and our support team will take care of completing the steps to comply with 10DLC registration.

Brand registration

Description

Zoho Voice super admi email address*

Email address of your super admin's Zoho Voice account.

Business Name*

Official, legal name of your business.

This must match with the name under which your EIN/Tax ID is issued.

DBA or Brand Name*

Doing Business As (DBA) or any trade names of your business.

Mention this field, even if your brand name is the same as your legal business name.

What type of legal form is the organization?*

The type of legal entity your brand represents. Select from:

  • Charity / Non-Profit Organization

  • Government

  • Private Company

  • Publicly Traded Company

  • Sole Proprietor (currently not supported)

What is the vertical?*

The industry vertical that best matches your business.

Country of Registration*

Name of the country in which your business is registered.

Website*

Mention the URL directing to your business' official website

Note: This website must contain all the opt-in, out-out, help, and privacy policy details.

EIN/Tax ID*

Your business' Employer Identification Number. EIN are issued by the Internal Revenue Service in the U.S.

For businesses outside the U.S. Tax ID should be provided.

Are you a reseller?*

This field must be selected for businesses that re-sell products/services to other businesses who are your customers.

Business Address*

The official, legal address of your business.

Email Address

To register the campaign with a different email address other than the Zoho Voice super admin email address, mention it here.

Phone Number*

The phone number of an authorized representative for your business.

Select your SMS campaign use case type*

The type of use case that matches your campaign.

Zoho Voice supports the following use cases:

  • 2FA (two-factor authentication)

  • M2M (machine-to-machine)

  • Customer care

  • Polling/voting

  • Security alert

  • Higher education

  • Account notification

  • Delivery notification

  • Public service announcements

Note: For mixed campaign types, you can select a maximum of up to five use cases.

Brief description of your campaign's purpose, audience, and sender.

 

Message Flow*

Describe how users can opt-in to your messages.

Example: The users fill out an SMS marketing opt-in form on your website.

 Campaign Keywords  

Note: 

  • Your website's privacy terms and conditions MUST include mentions of SMS opt-in, opt-out, and help keywords. Additionally, incorporate a checkbox accompanied by the opt-in message on the webpage where customer information is collected. These pieces of information are mandatorily validated by global providers to approve the campaign.

  • For businesses that require their users to initiate the conversation, they might not have an exclusive opt-in message. However, SMS consent must be mentioned in their official website.

Example: "By texting us, you agree to receive SMS. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Your information will not be shared".

Opt-in keywords*

The keywords that the users need to text to start receiving the campaign messages.

Examples: Start, Yes

Opt-out keywords*

The keywords that the users need to text to stop receiving the campaign messages.

Example: STOP

Note: You must make your opt-out keyword clear during your opt-in process.

Help keywords*

 

The keyword that the users need to text to receive help.

 

Example: HELP

Note: You must make your help keyword clear during the registration process.

 Campaign auto-response

Description

Opt-in message*

You must write the message sample that will be sent to the users when they opt-in.

Example: You are now opted into [Your Brand] Marketing! To opt-out, type STOP.

Note: This field supports a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 40 characters.

Opt-out message*

You must write the confirmation message sample that will be sent to the users when they opt out (STOP), indicating that no further message will be sent from your campaign to the users' numbers.

Example: Sorry to see you go; you are now opted out of  [Your Brand] Marketing.

Note: This field supports a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 40 characters.

Help message*

You must write the auto-response message which will be sent to the users when they send your help keyword.

Example: [Your Brand], please visit yourbrand.com/support to get help.

Note: This field supports a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 40 characters.

Sample content that represents the messages you plan to send to end-users. This refers to your 10DLC campaign template, so enter all the words and information accurately.

Note:

You must have at least three sample messages irrespective of the count of use cases selected. Even if you select one use case, you must have at least three sample messages accurately mentioned.

If you plan to add any kind of embedded link or hyperlinked content messages to send to end-users, then choose 'Yes'.

Embedded Phone Number*

If you plan to provide any kind of phone number in messages to send to end-users, then choose 'Yes'.

Affiliate Marketing*

By default, this option must be set as 'No'.

Number Pooling*

By default, this option must be set as 'No'.

Direct Lending or Loan Arrangement*

By default, this option must be set as 'No'.

What's next after submitting the registration form?

Once you have filled out the registration form, our support team will verify and will reach out to you if there is any missed/incorrect information. Post verification, your details will be submitted to the carrier. Brand and 10DLC campaign verification by carrier typically takes 24 to 48 hours and 3 to 10 days, respectively (provided all details mentioned are correct), and our support team will take care of registering the brand, campaigns, and associating phone numbers.
