Adding a custom datapoint template to a model in the developer application

A custom datapoint template can be added to a Device model, Asset model, or Location model in the developer application.

AlertAll Datapoint operations require necessary permissions. Refer User Profiles document for more details.

To add a datapoint template to a model,
  1. Access the Developer Application.
  2. Select Asset or Devices or Location  in the left pane based on the model to which you want to import the datapoint template. For this illustration, Asset is selected.
  3. Click the name of the model you want to add the Datapoint Template to. For this illustration, the asset model: Diesel Generator is considered.



  4. Click Add Datapoints.



  5. Select Custom Datapoint Template and click Proceed. This opens the new datapoint template form.



  6. Select the Datapoint Type: Realtime or Schedule KPI. For this illustration "Realtime" is selected.



  7. Provide the following values in the corresponding fields as shown below. For this illustration a datapoint template: Engine Temperature is added.

  1. Click Add.
A new datapoint template called Engine Temperature will be added to the Model.
