Editing Modbus Registry Mapping Detail

When you import and add a peripheral-type device from the device gallery, it may include preconfigured datapoint definitions. These datapoint definitions contain Modbus registry mappings that can be remotely configured in the application and pushed to a gateway device running the Zoho IoT Agent.

For example, the PN600 energy meter in the device gallery comes with predefined datapoints such as Phase 2 Reactive Power, Phase 3 Active Power, Total Reactive Power, and more. Each of these datapoints includes default Modbus registry settings, including:

Telemetry
NameAddress
Register Type
Modbus Data Type

Multiplier
Offset
Endianness

You can modify these Modbus registry mappings to meet your specific requirements.

Note: Before you can edit the Modbus registry of the datapoints you must add a device based on the device product to your application.

To modify the modbus registry mapping of a device product,

Access the Developer Application.
In the Model tab, select Products from the left pane.
Click on the required device product. For this example, we select the PN600 Energy Meter.
On the device product's information page, go to Actions > Modbus Registry Mapping.
Select the datapoint you want to modify and click Edit.
Make the necessary changes.

Click Update to save your changes.

To apply changes made to the modbus registry mapping to the actual devices in the field, you must remotely push the configuration to the gateway device running the Zoho IoT Agent.
