Permissions for model template and instance specific

Permissions for model template and instance specific

Users can add templates or instance specific datapoints, commands, and alarm rules only if they have the appropriate permissions and required settings enabled in their associated user profiles.

Model Template Permissions

To add a monitor and control module template (datapoint, command, and alarm rule)  in the Zoho IOT application, users need specific permissions associated with their profile.
  • Module & model permissions available for administrator and developer type profiles must be enabled.

  • Access/View to the Device, Asset, or Location model to which the template needs to be added must be enabled.

For example in the below displayed profile configuration, the user associated with the technician profile will not be able to add monitor and control templates to the device models Gateway, DG Gateway, and ESP Gateway.

Instance Specific Permissions

To add an instance specific monitor and control module (datapoints, commands, and alarm rules) to any managed entity (device, asset, or location) in the Zoho IOT application, users must have the same profile permissions as required for a model template with access to the model for which the instance specific monitor and control modules need to be added, along with the following permissions.
  • Access/View for Datapoint, Command, or Alarm Rule configuration under the system module must be enabled with the Create/Edit/Delete permission as required.

  • Instance specific permissions must be enabled in the model settings page for the model from which the instance is based.

For example, to add an instance-specific command to an asset instance named HVAC 1, which is based on the HVAC unit model, the "instance-specific command" option must be enabled in the model settings of the HVAC unit model.
