Permissions Required for RIQ LT Agent Mobile App


Various permissions are required by the RIQ LT Agent App for proper tracking. Below table outlines the reason and steps to enable manually. By default the required permissions will be prompted in the mobile app automatically.

 iOS:

Location Service
(Always)

To track the device's location for live tracking (every 5 seconds) and periodic tracking (every 2 minutes)

  1. Location Services
    Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Location Services -> On
  2. App Location Permission
    Settings -> RIQ LT Agent -> Location -> Always

Precise Location

Precise location data is needed to ensure the app can track the device's exact location.

Settings -> RIQ LT Agent -> Location -> Enable Precise Location

Notification

To start and stop live tracking and to inform the user of any changes in the tracker like tracking start and end, tracker configuration changes, and state update.

Settings -> RIQ LT Agent -> Notification -> Allow Notifications

Push Notification

To receive instruction from the server, like start and stop live tracking.

RIQ LT Agent app -> 3 dots -> Notifications -> Enable Push Notifications

 

Motion & Fitness

To reduce battery usage by stopping location tracking when the device is not moving.

Settings -> RIQ LT Agent -> Enable Motion & Fitness

Background app refresh

To get location data and send it to the server and to start and stop location tracking.

  1. Settings -> Screen Time -> Content & Privacy Restrictions -> Background App Refresh -> Allow

  2. Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh -> Wifi & Mobile data

  3. Settings -> RIQ LT Agent -> Enable Background App Refresh

1. Settings -> Location -> On

2 .Settings -> Apps -> RIQ LT Agent -> Permissions -> Location -> Allow all the time

Precise Location

Precise location data is needed to ensure the app can track the device's exact location.

Settings -> Apps -> RIQ LT Agent -> Permissions -> Location -> Enable Use precise location

Notification

To start and stop live tracking and to inform the user of any changes in the tracker, like tracking start and end, tracker configuration changes, and state update.

Settings -> Apps -> RIQ LT Agent -> Permissions -> Notifications -> Allow Notifications

Activity Recognition

To reduce battery usage by stopping location tracking when the device is not moving

Settings -> Apps -> RIQ LT Agent -> Permissions -> Physical activity -> Allow

Battery Optimization & Battery Saver

 

To make sure the device is tracking properly when the device is moving.
If the battery optimization or saver is on location, data will be irregular

 

The steps varies for each manufacturer.

Android - How to disable Battery Optimisation for RIQ LT Agent App:

  1. Go to "Settings" -> "Battery".

  2. Select "Background usage limits".

  3. Select "Never sleeping apps".

  4. Tap "+" icon at the top right corner.

  5. Add "RIQ LT Agent".

  1. Go to "Settings" -> "Apps" -> "RIQ LT Agent".

  2. Select "Battery".

  3. Select "Unrestricted".

Google Pixel
  1. Go to "Settings" -> "Apps & notifications"

  2. Tap on "Advanced"

  3. Tap on "Special app access"

  4. Tap on "Battery optimization"

 

                      OR

  1. Go to "Settings" -> "RIQ LT Agent".

  2. Tap "Battery" or "App Battery Usage".

  3. Select "Unrestricted".

OnePlus

Step 1

  1. Go to "Settings" -> "RIQ LT Agent".

  2. Select "Battery usage".

  3. Enable "Allow foreground activity".

  4. Enable "Allow background activity".

  5. Enable "Allow auto-launch".

 

Step 2

  1. Go to "Settings" -> "Battery".

  2. Select "More settings".

  3. Select "Optimise battery use".

  4. Select "RIQ LT Agent".

  5. And Tap "Don't optimize".
