Set your availability

Set your work preference and mark your availability for days, weeks, or months. This keeps your manager informed about your preferences in advance, helping to schedule appointments based on availability.

Before you start

You'll be able to add your availability preferences when you have permission to set your own availability.

To set availability

  1. Open the Zoho Shifts mobile app.
  2. Tap More at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap My Availability.
  4. Tap on the date for which you want to add availability.
  5. To set your preferred working hours, select Preferred. If you're unavailable, choose Unavailable.
  6. To set a specific time range, turn off the All Day optionYou can then enter your start and end times.
  7. To repeat this availability, tap Repeat. Otherwise, you can skip and move to the next step.
  1. In the Repeat tab, select repeat frequency (Days or Weeks) as needed.
  2. Choose the weekdays for which you want to repeat your availability, if you’ve selected weeks.
  3. To select when this availability should end, tap 'On' and choose a date to end the repeat action, or tap 'After' and set the number of occurrences your availability has to repeat.
  4. Tap Done.
  1. Add Notes if you want to provide context for your availability (optional).
  2. Tap Save.
On web
  1. Navigate to the Schedule tab > My Schedule.
  2. Select the date for which you want to set the availability.
  3. Click the Availability tab in the pop-up window.
  4. Select availability type. If you want to set availability for preferred working hours, select Preferred. Otherwise, you can select Unavailable. 
  5. Select the duration of your availability as All Day or Partial Day.
  6. Set the Time Range if you opted for partial availability.
  7. Add notes if you want to give context for your availability(optional).
  8. To repeat this availability, select Repeat. If not, you can skip this step. 
  1. Enter the repeat frequency and select days or weeks as required.
  2. Choose the weekdays for which you want to repeat the availability, if you’ve selected weeks.
  3. Choose when this availability should end by selecting On (for a specific date) or After (for after a number of occurrences).
  1. Click Save Availability.

NotesSetting your availability does not guarantee that shifts will be assigned to you or that they will remain unscheduled. Your employer would review your preferences and schedule based on the business conditions and requirements. To mark a mandatory absence, you can raise a time-off request.
