Customize layouts and fields
Every project will have a different set of goals. The workforce, requirements, efficiency of employees, type of work etc. varies based on the project's goal. Having a standard layout for all the projects is difficult to handle. To overcome this typical structure, creating custom layouts for different types of project will make your work simple.

About fields
Fields are the entities that describe the purpose of the work item. If the existing fields (Default fields) do not match your business requirement, you can add custom fields to the layout.

About layouts
A layout is a group of fields that are designed to help project users capture information clearly. A standard layout has default fields and sections. It gets applied to a project when you do not have custom layouts and you have not associated a particular layout for a project.
- System Layout - System layout is the standard layout that comes in-built and contains all the default fields that are required. You can use this as the basis while creating your custom layouts.
- Default Layout - Default layout is that which you can select to replace the system layout. You can set a custom layout as default so that all upcoming projects will have that layout automatically. On selecting a different layout as default, the existing projects will not be impacted, the changed layout will only be applied for new projects.

About section
Sections can otherwise be termed as headings to the fields that you specify. A group of similar fields are categorized under a section.
For example: If you want to add Payment Details as one of the sections in the layout. You can do that by adding relevant custom fields like Plan, Monthly, Yearly, Discounts, User Add-ons, Feature Add-ons, Total Amount, Invoice PDF etc. and group of all the payment related fields under 'Invoice' section.
Access privileges

If you are the layout owner, you can:
- Add, edit, and delete sections.
- Associate projects to layouts.
- Reorder fields in your layout.
- Reorder fields in other layouts.
