How to change document view and layout options in Zoho Writer

Overview

Zoho Writer provides flexible options to help you work more comfortably and efficiently with your documents. You can switch between Page View and Web View layouts, adjust zoom levels or use multi-page layouts for a bird’s-eye view, show or hide elements such as images, bookmarks, and grid lines, enter Full-Screen Mode for distraction-free writing.

Steps

How to Change document layout

Click > View tab. The Layout pane opens.
Under Document Layout, select one of the following:

Page View: Displays your document as it would appear when printed.
Web View: Displays the document as a continuous page suitable for web publishing.

To set a custom width for Web View, enter or select a percentage.

How to adjust zoom levels

You can enlarge or reduce your document view depending on your needs.

Method 1

Click More > View tab.
Under Zoom, choose the required magnification level.

Method 2

Click the zoom percentage shown in the lower-right corner of the editor.
Select your preferred zoom level from the menu.

View document in multi-page layout

Multi-page layout lets you view two or more pages side by side for a bird’s-eye view of lengthy documents.

Click More > View tab.
Open the Zoom drop-down and select the required multi-page layout option.

Tip: Use a larger font size for better readability in multi-page views.

How to show or hide elements

You can selectively display or hide certain elements in your document.

Click More > View tab.
Under Show/Hide, enable or disable options such as:

Images
Bookmarks
Smart Gridlines

How to enable full-screen mode

Work distraction-free by switching to full-screen view.

Method 1

Click the Page View icon in the bottom-right corner of the editor.
Select Enter Full Screen.

Method 2 (shortcut)

Mac: Press Command + F11.
Windows: Press Ctrl + F11.

Additional Note

By default, documents open in Page View. To set Web View as your default:

Go to Settings > Preferences > Default Document View.
Select Web View and save your preferences.
The chosen zoom percentage is applied to all future documents unless you change it manually.

Troubleshooting

Error/ symptom: Document view keeps resetting

Recommended solution: Update your default view and zoom preferences under Settings > Preferences.
