I have followed the instructions on how to configure IMAP access through a desktop client like Thunderbird (I'm using version 3.1.6). It has downloaded all folders and messages. But, once I started using it (sending messages, deleting), I'm facing some strange behaviour like messages re-appearing after deleted, messages that are in inbox, but can only be downloaded through IMAP once you have logged in through Web interface, and some other issues.
A couple of issues I am having:
- Thunderbird fails to identify the Draft folder as the place for drafts (it expects it to be named "Drafts"). The same for Template/Templates.
- When sending a message, it is copied to the Sent folder. If I erase it from the Sent folder, it is placed in Trash folder. If I leave Thunderbird and then restart, the message appears in both Sent and Trash folders. The only way of getting rid of the message is through the Web interface.
Each time I try to tweak Thunderbird settings (like specifying manually the special folders or messing with the server and folder options) it gets worst. So, I would like to ask: is anyone using Thunderbird through IMAP with Zoho Mail and got it right? What are the settings that need to be configured so it works as expected?
