User provisioning with Zendesk enables you to provision and deprovision users in Zendesk from Zoho Directory Admin Panel, enabling you to use Zoho Directory as a single source of truth.

- Active subscription to either Multi-channel support plans or Email-first support plans
- Bulk User Import API must be enabled to assign users to Zendesk from Zoho Directory

2. Click
, then click Admin Center.
3. In the left panel, navigate to Apps and Integrations.
4. Go to OAuth clients under APIs.
5. Click Add OAuth client.
6. Enter the details in the Name, Description, Company, Logo(optional), Identifier, Client kind, Redirect URLs fields. For Redirect URLs use the format : https://[directory-url]/provision/oauth/callback. For example, if your directory URL is https://directory.zoho.in, then your redirect URL will be: https://directory.zoho.in/provision/oauth/callback.
7. Click Save, a secret will be generated. Copy the secret and Identifier, as you will need it to set up provisioning in Zoho Directory.

2. Click Admin Panel in the left menu, click Applications, then click Add Application.
3. Use the search bar to find and add Zendesk.
4. Enter a Display name and the Domain Name of your Zendesk account. The Zendesk domain name is the part before zendesk.com in the URL. For example, if the URL is https://spencer-4609.zendesk.com, then spencer-4609 is your domain name.
5. Click Zendesk, then under the Provisioning tab, click Configure.
6. Paste the Identifier in the OAuth Consumer Key and the Secret in the OAuth Consumer Secret under the API INTEGRATION tab.
7. Click Authorize. You will be redirected to the consent page to allow access to your Zendesk account.
8. If you are not signed in to Zendesk already, enter your Zendesk credentials to sign in, and you will be redirected to the consent page.
9. Click Allow, you will be redirected to the FIELD MAPPING section of Zoho Directory.
10. Select the fields that have to be synced with Zendesk, and map a relevant Zoho Directory field with them. If you'd like to have a constant value set in Zendesk for any field, click Edit next to the field, enter the value in the Hardcoded Value field, then click OK.
By default, all Zendesk fields will be mapped to a relevant Zoho Directory field. To change this mapping, you should have the Standard or Professional plans in Zoho Directory.
11. Click Save and Next.
12. Choose which of the changes made in Zoho Directory have to be synced with Zendesk:
- Create users: Assigning a user to Zendesk in Zoho Directory automatically creates a new user account in Zendesk. During this assignment, Zendesk roles will be listed by default, allowing you to choose the appropriate role of each user.
- Update User profile: If a user account already exists in Zendesk for a user, any changes made to the mapped fields in user's profile in Zoho Directory will be synced with Zendesk.
- Delete users: When a user is unassigned from the Zendesk app in Zoho Directory, the existing user account will be deleted in Zendesk.
- Activate and deactivate users: Activating and deactivating users in Zoho Directory will activate or deactivate them in Zendesk. Additionally, users who have an account in Zendesk will be activated when they are assigned to the app in Zoho Directory.
In Zendesk, the Billing admin role can be assigned only to users who have admin and support admin role. Users with roles such as End users, Light agent or Contributor cannot be granted with billing admin access.
13. Click Save.
14. If you'd like to have the users currently in Zendesk to be imported to Zoho Directory, click Import. It is advisable to import users to Zoho Directory during initial setup or when activating the app after a while. A list of users that can be imported will be displayed.
15. The following filters can be used to select users to import:
- New Users: Users that are present in Zendesk but not in Zoho Directory. These users will be created in Zoho Directory, and Zendesk will be assigned to them.
- Update Users: Users in Zendesk who already exist in Zoho Directory will have their profile attributes updated based on the source profile you choose. The selected users' existing details will be overwritten with the attributes from the chosen source.
- Users to Activate: Zendesk users who are inactive in Zoho Directory but active in Zendesk will be listed here. These users will be activated in Zoho Directory and assigned to Zendesk.
- Users to Deactivate: Zendesk users who are active in Zoho Directory but inactive in Zendesk will be listed here. These users will be deactivated in Zoho Directory.
16. Click Confirm Assignment.
17. Click Done.
