Email OTP Verification
Email OTP Verification checks if the provided email address is valid or not. To configure it:
- In your Email field properties, go to OTP Verification and click Configure.
In the Email OTP Configuration popup, select the From address from which you want to send the email. If you wish to display a From Name while sending emails, click Add From Name.
Note: If you select notifications@zohoforms.com to be the From address, then the form admin's email address will be set as From Name by default and this cannot be modified.
- You can customize the default email subject and the OTP message to be sent in the email as required.
Under Verification Settings, you can configure
OTP Expiration Time: Set the time within which a respondent is required to enter the OTP verification code.
Number of OTP Resend Requests Allowed: Define how many times a respondent can request a new OTP code to their email.
Verification Button Label: Customize the text displayed on the button next to the email field that triggers the OTP sending process on the live form.
Enable Confirmation Pop-up Before Sending OTP: Display a confirmation pop-up to the user before sending the OTP. This allows them to review the email and confirm they wish to proceed with verification, preventing accidental OTP sends.
CAPTCHA Verification: To add an extra layer of security and prevent spam entries, you can include a Zoho Forms CAPTCHA to evaluate if it is a human or a bot that is filling out your form.
Phone OTP Verification
Phone OTP Verification checks if the provided phone number is valid or not. To configure it, you must first select the delivery method (SMS or WhatsApp) for sending the OTP.
SMS OTP Verification
- In your Phone field properties, go to OTP Verification and click Configure.
- Select the SMS Gateway. A list of all the SMS Gateway connections you have created will be displayed here.
You can customize the default OTP message to be sent to the respondents' mobile as required.
Under Verification Settings, you can configure
OTP Expiration Time: Set the time within which a respondent is required to enter the OTP verification code.
Number of OTP Resend Requests Allowed: Define how many times a respondent can request a new OTP code to their phone via SMS.

WhatsApp OTP Verification
This allows you to verify if the provided phone number is valid or not. To do so:
- In your Phone field properties, go to OTP Verification and click Configure.
Select the Channel ID and the Template from the respective dropdowns.
Under Verification Settings, you can configure
OTP Expiration Time: Set the time within which a respondent is required to enter the OTP verification code.
Number of OTP Resend Requests Allowed: Define how many times a respondent can request a new OTP code to their phone via WhatsApp.
Verification Button Label: Customize the text displayed on the button next to the phone field that triggers the OTP sending process on the live form.

- You can configure upto five fields with inline OTP verification per form.
