Adding a realtime datapoint template to a custom datapoint group in the developer application

Prerequisite: Make sure you have already created a custom datapoint group.

New realtime datapoint templates without computation can be added to a custom datapoint group which can be used while configuring device, asset, and location models.

Note: Only realtime datapoint templates without any computation can be added. Datapoint templates cannot be added to datapoint groups imported from the gallery.

To add a custom datapoint template to a datapoint group in the developer application,
If you just created a datapoint group proceed from step 5.
  1. Access the Developer Application.
  2. Select Datapoint Group in the left pane.



  3. Click on the custom datapoint group for which you want to add the datapoint template. For this illustration, the Home Automation datapoint group is selected.



  4. Click Add Datapoint Template. This will open the add new datapoint template form.



  5. Provide the required details in the appropriate fields. For this illustration, a datapoint for Light Intensity is created.

  6. Click Add. 
The datapoint template will now be added to the custom datapoint group.
