Create and manage Classification Labels in WorkDrive

Create and manage Classification Labels

Classification labels help you quickly identify sensitive files and restrict them from being shared, downloaded, copied, or printed.

You can create and apply these labels in two ways:
  1. Automatically via a data loss prevention (DLP) policy
  2. Manually by right-clicking on a file and selecting the appropriate classification label

Creating classification labels

  1. Sign in to your WorkDrive account as an admin or super admin.

  2. Click Admin Console in the bottom-left corner.

  3. Select Data Loss Prevention from the left pane.
This will open the Data Loss Prevention window, and the Policies tab will be selected by default.

  4. Navigate to the Classification Labels tab and click + New Classification Label in the top-right corner of your screen.
The Create Classification Label window will appear.

  5. Provide a name, description, and select a color for the badge.

  6. Select the actions you want to manage. Options include:
1. Block external sharing options for files
    2. Block download, copy, and print actions for files
    3. Display a warning to users prior to external sharing

  7. Choose how you want to use the classification label:
    1. For automatic classification via DLP policy: This option can only be used as part of a DLP policy.
    2. For manual classification only: This option allows you to classify files manually and cannot be used in a DLP policy. Learn more about applying or removing the classification label manually

  8. Click Create.
The created Classification Label can now be applied to your files either automatically through a DLP policy or manually by right-clicking the desired file.

Managing classification labels

  3. Select Data Loss Prevention from the left pane.
This will open the Data Loss Prevention window, and the Policies tab will be selected by default.

  4. Switch to the Classification Labels tab to view the list of existing labels.

  5. Hover over a label and click the More actions (...) icon.

  6. Select View Associated Files to see all files linked to the chosen label. Here you can remove classification by right-clicking on a file.
