Zoho WorkDrive offers two desktop apps: Sync and TrueSync.
Sync: Downloads and backs up your WorkDrive items directly to your computer.
TrueSync: Creates a virtual drive of your WorkDrive account without downloading files immediately, saving storage space.
Sync: Windows, macOS, and Linux.
TrueSync: Windows and macOS.
There is no limit to uploads via desktop apps. However, it is recommended to upload files and folders in multiple batches to avoid delays.
The maximum file size depends on your WorkDrive plan:
Starter Plan: 10 GB
Team Plan: 50 GB
Business Plan: 250 GB
You can drag and drop or copy and paste files and folders from your computer to the chosen sync folder.
Files sync instantaneously whenever a new file is added or an existing file is modified.
Selective Sync allows you to choose specific folders or subfolders to sync instead of syncing everything by default.

.zdoc - Writer (Documents)
.zsheet - Sheet (Spreadsheets)
.zslides - Show (Presentations)
Zoho format files are displayed as link files on the desktop and open in a browser when accessed.
Users can create, edit, copy, rename, and delete files and folders in the desktop apps based on their assigned role permissions in a Team Folder.
No, Team Folders can only be created or deleted via the WorkDrive web app.
Deleted files and folders are removed from all connected devices and the WorkDrive web app. In shared folders and Team Folders, deletion also removes access for other users.
Yes, you can adjust the upload and download speeds in Settings > Preferences > Bandwidth.
Sync: Stores synced files locally, except for Zoho format files, which are saved as link files.
TrueSync: Does not download files by default. Files are temporarily downloaded when accessed and remain until the app is closed. Users can manually save files for offline access.
All files are scanned for viruses upon upload. Infected files are not synced. If a file is incorrectly flagged, contact support at support@zohoworkdrive.com.
A WorkDrive account can be linked to up to 20 computers.
TrueSync allows up to 3 WorkDrive accounts on the same computer. Learn more
Sync: Default location - User Profile > Zoho WorkDrive (Team name). You can change this location in Settings > Preferences > Account > WorkDrive location.
TrueSync: Mounts a virtual drive (Z:/ by default) with files stored in User Profile > WorkDrive TrueSync.
Zoho WorkDrive employs SSL encryption, AES-256 bit encryption, and multiple security layers. A dedicated security team ensures data synchronization remains secure.

TrueSync: No, external/network drives are not supported.
No, placing the WorkDrive folder inside another app's folder may cause syncing issues.
