Schedule, cancel, abort, or retry a merge operation in Zoho Writer

How to schedule a merge operation, and cancel, abort, or rerun a scheduled merge in Zoho Writer

Overview

Zoho Writer merge templates include a built-in scheduler to give you the convenience of running a merge operation at your preferred date and time. You can also cancel or reschedule a scheduled merge, abort an in-progress or running merge, or rerun a failed scheduled merge.

Steps

 1. How to schedule a merge operation

1. Create a merge template in Zoho Writer.
2. Choose Zoho Sheet as the data source, and select the relevant Sheet.
3. Under "When to Merge," choose "On Schedule", and click the Configure link.
4. In the scheduler that opens, choose the desired date and time and click Schedule.

2. How to cancel, reschedule, abort, or retry a scheduled merge operation

Based on whether a scheduled merge operation is yet to start, running, or failed/completed with errors, you can cancel, abort, or retry the merge operation.
1. Open the desired Zoho Writer merge template.
2. Go to Automate tab --> Configure. In the Automate panel that opens on the right pane, go to Finish, and click View Log.

3. In the merge log window that opens:
       a. Cancel or reschedule a merge:
Locate the desired merge schedule that is yet to start and click the Cancel button to cancel it. You can use the Reschedule button to change your preferred execution time.

       b. Abort an in-progress/running merge:
Locate the running merge operation that you wish to stop, an click the Abort button.

       c. Retry failed records:
Click the merge job that you wish to rerun, and click the Try Again button. The records for which the merge operation had failed earlier will be rerun now.

Note

  1. For cancelled merge schedules, the credits consumed/reserved will be reversed.
  2. For aborted merge schedules, the credits reserved for the records yet to be merge will be reversed.
  3. While retrying failed merges, the credits will be consumed only for those records that will be processed again.
