You can initiate the integration between Vertical Studio and Zoho Campaigns only from the Vertical Studio subscriber account. Once initiated, you can add new sync either from your Vertical Studio subscriber account or Zoho Campaigns.
In the Zoho Campaigns page, do the following:
- Choose the module for sync. You can choose Leads, Contacts, or custom modules.
- Select the mailing list and any specific topics for the sync. Only pick topics beyond the default one if you have configured additional ones.
- Choose the subscription type: Marketing (for subscribers consenting to marketing emails) or Non-Marketing.
- Enable Update empty field values to reflect any deletions or changes from your Vertical Studio subscriber data in the synced destination.
- In Advanced Options:
- Enable Exclude opt-out contacts to skip syncing subscribers who have opted out.
- Enable Remove opt-out subscriber records to delete opted-out contacts from the synced list, keeping it clean and active.
- Click Next. You will be taken to the field mapping screen. Basic details will be pre-mapped.
- If you want to map additional fields, click Map more fields and map accordingly
- Click Initiate to initiate the sync.

Once initiated, you can add a new sync from Zoho Campaigns:
- Log in to your Zoho Campaigns account
- Navigate to Contacts > Sync Services > Zoho Solution
- Click +New Sync
- Do the necessary configurations.
Note: Each Zoho Campaigns account can be connected to only one Vertical Studio subscriber account. If an account is already integrated, new setups will be restricted until the previous connection is removed.
Viewing and Editing the Sync
You can view sync details and update the configuration at any time from both your Vertical Studio subscriber account and your Zoho Campaigns account.
From Zoho Campaigns:
- Navigate to Contacts > Sync Services > Solution.
- Select the specific sync you want to view or update.
- On this screen, you can:
- Update the sync configuration
- Modify field mappings
- View sync details
From Vertical Studio:
Selecting a specific sync in your Vertical Studio account will redirect you to the corresponding sync page in Zoho Campaigns, where you can view or manage the sync settings.
Updating Field Mappings
Field mappings can be updated at any time after the sync is created. To add or change field mappings, open the sync details and click Map More Fields. This allows you to include additional data from the Vertical Studio subscriber account.
Viewing Sync History
The Sync History provides a detailed breakdown of each sync operation, including:
- Total – The total number of contacts processed during the sync.
- Added – New contacts added to Zoho Campaigns through the sync.
- Updated – Existing contacts whose data was updated.
- Skipped – Contacts that were not added due to one of the following conditions:
- Duplicate Contacts – Contacts already present in Zoho Campaigns and re-encountered during the sync.
- Ignored Contacts – Contacts that could not be added due to specific issues. Learn more about ignored contacts.
Pausing the Sync
You can pause an active sync at any time:
To pause a sync from Vertical Studio:
- Log in to your Vertical Studio subscriber account.
- Go to Setup > Marketplace > Zoho > Zoho Campaigns.
- Locate the specific sync you want to pause.
- Toggle the Status switch to Off to pause the sync.
To pause a sync from Zoho Campaigns:
- Navigate to Contacts > Sync Services > Solution.
- Select the specific sync you want to pause.
- On the sync details screen, click Pause Sync.
Once paused, the sync will stop transferring data until manually resumed. Pausing a sync temporarily halts syncing for that specific configuration. The sync remains available and can be resumed at any time. No data or configuration is lost when the sync is paused.
Disable Integration
Disabling the integration unlinks all campaigns in Vertical Studio from Zoho Campaigns and stops all live data syncs for current and past campaigns. Additionally, all configured syncs (data sync rules and mappings) are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Deactivate Integration
Deactivating the integration fully disconnects Vertical Studio from Zoho Campaigns. All active campaigns in the Zoho Campaigns layout are converted to offline campaigns in the standard layout. After deactivation, synchronized data will no longer be accessible within offline campaigns. Note that any unsent campaigns must be sent directly from Zoho Campaigns.
You can disable or deactivate the Zoho Campaigns integration directly from the Campaigns homepage in Vertical Studio. To do this, navigate to Setup > Marketplace > Zoho > Zoho Campaigns > Manage, then click Deactivate and choose either Disable or Deactivate based on your needs.

Troubleshooting and FAQs
Q: Why can’t I enable the integration?
A: Ensure your Zoho Campaigns account isn’t already linked to another Vertical Studio subscriber account. Each Zoho Campaigns account can only integrate with one Vertical Studio account at a time.
A: Review the sync history in either Vertical Studio or Zoho Campaigns. Contacts may be skipped if they are duplicates, have opted out, or contain invalid data (such as missing required fields).
Q: Can I use the same Zoho Campaigns account for multiple Vertical Studio accounts?
A: No. Each Zoho Campaigns account can only be connected to one Vertical Studio subscriber account at a time.
Q: Field mappings are not syncing correctly or some fields are missing. How can I fix this?
A: To resolve mapping issues:
Confirm all required fields—especially Email Address—are mapped correctly.
Use the Map More Fields option to add any additional Vertical Studio fields needed in Zoho Campaigns.
Ensure custom fields exist in Zoho Campaigns before mapping; unmapped custom fields won’t sync.
A: Ignored contacts often result from invalid or missing data, or conflicts like duplicate entries. Details of these records can be found in the sync history. Address any data quality issues to ensure successful syncing.
Q: Sync is not updating changes made in Vertical Studio. Why?
A: Check if the sync is paused or deactivated. Only active syncs transfer data. Confirm that the Update empty field values option is enabled if you want deletions or blank values to reflect in Zoho Campaigns.
Q: Does this integration support two-way data sync?
A: No, this integration supports a one-way sync of subscriber data from Vertical Studio to Zoho Campaigns.
Q: Are subscriber opt-outs and unsubscribe preferences respected?
A: Yes, opt-outs configured in Vertical Studio are automatically honored in Zoho Campaigns to maintain compliance.
Yes, you can map custom fields and tags from Vertical Studio to Zoho Campaigns during field mapping.
