Why is this shown

After you sign up for a Zoho account using an email address, you must verify that email address. This verification step completes your sign-up process and confirms your account. At Zoho, we need a verified email address to identify your account and for all major communications with you (including notifications, alerts, and announcements).

After you signed up, we would have sent you a welcome email titled 'Welcome to Zoho' with a link to confirm your account. If you tried signing in without confirming your account through that link, you would be shown this screen.

Note that an unconfirmed Zoho account will be suspended and subsequently deleted after 30 days.

What you need to do

To confirm your Zoho account: 

1. Make sure the email address shown is correct. If it's not, you can edit it.
2. Click Send Code. A verification code will be sent to that email address.
3. Check your inbox for an email with the subject "Zoho account confirmation" and find the verification code.
4. Enter the verification code in the above page, then click Verify.

Why is this shown

If the location from which you're accessing your account does not match with the location mentioned in your account, we will show this announcement to let you know. 

Based on the location, your time-zone can vary, and the time-zone corresponding to your location will be used in email communications and across all your Zoho apps. To avoid confusion regarding the time-zone, we remind you to update it.

What you need to do

If the Locale Details detected and shown are correct, click Update Now. Your location will be updated in your account. 

If the detected details are incorrect:

1. Click Edit next to Locale Details. 
2. Select the correct Country/Region, State, and Timezone. 
3. Click Change. Your location will be updated in your account. 

Skippable?

Yes, you can skip this temporarily by clicking Remind me later. However, you will be asked to update your location after 7 days, if the accessing location is still not the same as the one mentioned in your account.

Why is this shown

We will ask you to review the email addresses and mobile numbers associated with your account:

• Three months after you signed up for your Zoho account
• Every six months after initial confirmation

The associated email addresses and mobile numbers can be used to sign in to your account and to reset your account password if you ever forget it. So, this announcement is to make sure these details are correct and they are accessible only by you.

What you need to do

If the details are correct, click Confirm. 

If they are not and you need to update them, click MANAGE. You will be taken to your Accounts page, where you can add, edit, or remove your email addresses/mobile numbers. 

Once you confirm or edit the details, we will ask you to review them again every six months.

Skippable?

Yes, you can skip confirming/updating the details temporarily by clicking Remind me later. We will ask you to review the details after 14 days. 

Why is this shown

When you add a domain to your organization, you will need to verify your ownership of that domain to make use of domain-related features such as:

• Enabling mail hosting and creating inboxes for users
• Adding users directly as confirmed users
• Creating custom domain-based aliases

If an added domain's ownership is not verified for 90 days, we will automatically delete the domain from the organization. This is to ensure that you don't associate a domain belonging to another organization to your organization incorrectly. 

We show this announcement to remind you to either verify the ownership of unverified domains or delete those domains from your organization before they get deleted during the cleanup after 90 days. 

What you need to do

1. Click Manage Domains. You will be taken to the domain management page.
2. Either verify your ownership of the domain or delete them from your organization.

Why is this shown

We show this announcement, if you have domains that are about to expire or have already expired. You can take the necessary action, as mentioned below, to keep the domain from being marked as unverified. Unverified domains will be deleted after 90 days during the cleanup process.
There are two possible situations where you will encounter this announcement.

1. One or more of your domains are about to expire.
   
2. One or more of your domains have expired.

What you need to do

1. If your domain is about to expire, you can renew the domain from the respective domain registrar and it will be automatically updated in your Zoho account.
2. If your domain is already expired, first you need to renew the domain, then re-verify by going to accounts.zoho.com > Domains.
   

Skippable?

Yes, you can either skip this by clicking Remind me later and check later (Accounts > Domains) or check out right away by clicking Go to Domains.

Expired domains will be marked as unverified after some time. Once a domain has been marked unverified, it will be deleted after 90 days, unless it's renewed and re-verified. 

Why is this shown

If your organization admin has enforced you to add a mobile number to your account, we will show this. 

Adding a number to your account has the following uses:

• While signing in, you can use your mobile number as the username instead of your email address.
• If you forget your account password, you can use your mobile number as a recovery option to reset your password. Learn how

What you need to do

1. Enter the mobile number you want to add in the Mobile Number field. 
2. Click Send Code. A verification code will be sent via SMS to the number.
3. Check your messages and find the verification code. 
4. Enter the verification code in the above page, then click Verify.

Skippable?

No, this is not skippable. You will have to add your mobile number to continue.

Why is this shown

If an email address or mobile number added to your account is not verified yet, we will show this announcement to remind you to do it. 

Email addresses and mobile numbers added to your account can be used:

• As username to sign in to your account (all email addresses and primary mobile number)
• To verify your identity while resetting password if you ever forget it. 
• For email communications (such as notifications, alerts, and announcements) and SMS communications (such as verification code SMS and OTP SMS)

What you need to do

1. Click Verify next to the email address/mobile number.
2. Click Send code. A verification code will be sent via email or SMS. 
3. Enter the code received in the above page, then click Verify.
4. Click Access Your Account after verifying to go to your account.

If the email address or mobile number has been added incorrectly, click Edit/Delete. You will be taken to your Accounts page where you can add, edit, or remove your email addresses and mobile numbers.

Yes, you can skip past this page by clicking Skip. This announcement will be shown again after 1 month.

However, if there isn't at least one email address verified in your account, this announcement will be shown every time you sign in. 

Why is this shown

When the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy specific to your country gets updated, we will let you know through this announcement. 

The date after which the updated terms and policy will come into effect will also be mentioned. 

What you need to do

Go through the updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You can also view a summary of what changes were made and why they were made. A comparison page showing the edits made between the old and new version will also be available for you to go through.

Once you went through the updated terms and policy, click I Understand, Continue.

Why is this shown

The maximum number of times you can sign in to your Zoho account in a single day is 20 (i.e., the daily sign-in limit). If you have reached your daily sign-in limit, you will not be allowed to sign in again for the rest of the day. 

This announcement will be shown for every sign-in attempt after the 14th one, to alert you of the potential block that could happen if you reach the daily limit.

What you need to do

Be mindful of the number of times you sign in during a day. Avoid further sign-in attempts to avoid having your account blocked for the rest of the day.

As this is an alert, it cannot be skipped.

Why is this shown

Concurrent sessions denote the number of sessions you are currently signed-in to. By default, a Zoho account can have only 50 concurrent sessions. If you are part of an organization, your admin can also increase or decrease this limit.

If you reach the maximum concurrent sessions limit, you will not be able to sign in again unless you terminate all your sessions. Hence, we show this to alert you if there are too many concurrent sessions present for your account.

What you need to do

You can clear out the sessions that you don't need to avoid getting locked out. To do that, click Manage sessions. You will be taken to your Accounts page where you can terminate the sessions.

As this is an alert, it cannot be skipped.

Why is this shown

Passwords alone don't provide much security to your account. To avoid risks of unauthorized access, you can set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) and improve your account's security. 

We show you this page to remind you to set up MFA if you haven't done already.

What you need to do

You can set up MFA using one of the four modes available in Zoho:

• Zoho OneAuth
• SMS-based OTP
• OTP authenticator
• Security Key
  

You can follow the on-screen instructions to set up one of these modes. To learn more about MFA and the MFA modes, refer to Introduction to MFA.
