How can I check in attendees into the event?
Select Attendees list in the Attendees tab of the Event Console. Click the Check In button near an attendee to do this.
Can I check in more than one attendee at a time?
No, you can only check in one attendee at a time.
Can I check in attendees without an internet connection?
No, you will need an internet connection to check in attendees with Backstage.
Can I allow someone without a ticket to attend my event and take part in sessions and discussions?
Yes you can. To check in a guest you can allow them with a guest pass that enables them to take part in sessions and discussions. For more details about allowing guests, click

If a person has registered in the event microsite but has not bought a ticket, can they still join sessions online during event day?
People who register on the microsite and have not bought a ticket are called prospects. Prospects can't join sessions during event day unless they buy a ticket. They also will not be able to do the following without a ticket:
- Participate in discussions
- Ask questions or provide feedback during sessions
- Upload images to the gallery
Can attendees take part in sessions from the attendee app?
Yes, attendees can take part in sessions from the attendee app.
How can attendees get engaged with the speaker and the audience during sessions?
Attendees can participate in the session by asking questions. Questions asked can also be posted anonymously and be edited at anytime. Attendees can also chat with other session participants and share their thoughts on the spoken topic through reactions. Polls conducted by the panelists can also be answered by attendees during the session.
What are panelists?
Anyone who takes care of a session or who is the speaker in that session is generally known as a panelist. This can include hosts, co-hosts, speakers, event organizers, and more. When you join a session, click the Panelists tab to view the panelists in that session.
What is a host?
A host is someone who takes care of session-related tasks during a session. These tasks can vary from event to event, and may include collecting files from speakers which will be presented during sessions, introducing the speaker before the session starts, and ensuring smooth flow of the session. Hosts can be added to a hall or a track in the Hosts tab under the Virtual tab in the Manage Dashboard of the Event Console.
What is a co-host?
A co-host is a person who supports the host with any session related task. Co-hosts can be added to a hall or a track in the Hosts tab under the Virtual tab in the Manage Dashboard of the Event Console.
What permissions do hosts and co-hosts have in Backstage?
Hosts and co-hosts can plan and conduct session rehearsals and manage mic and video access for attendees in the session.
