Affiliate marketing in Zoho Backstage is a powerful way to extend the reach of your event. By working with affiliates, you can tap into their networks to attract a broader audience while gaining visibility and boosting registrations. Each affiliate is assigned a unique link that can be tracked, enabling you to measure traffic, registrations, and revenue generated through them.
The Affiliate Link feature is available in the Essential, Premium, and Ultimate plans.
Creating an Affiliate Link
Before you can create individual links for all your affiliates and start collecting data on the amount of traffic and sales generated from a particular source, you need to add the affiliate to your event.
- Navigate to Manage > Promote > Affiliate tab from the Dock.
- Click Add Affiliate. The Add Affiliate side panel will appear.

- Enter the Affiliate Name to create a unique URL for the affiliate link.
- Click Add.
Once added, the affiliate will appear in your list, and you can proceed to generate their link.
Generating an Affiliate Link
After an affiliate is created, you can generate their unique link and share it.
- Navigate to Manage > Promote > Affiliate from the Dock.
- Locate the affiliate from the list.
- Click the Get Link button for that affiliate.

- Click Copy to copy the generated URL.
- Share this link with the affiliate so they can post it on their website, email, or social channels.
The affiliate’s name will always appear at the end of the link, making it easy to identify the source of traffic.
You can monitor how well your affiliates are performing through built-in KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
- Navigate to Manage > Promote > Affiliate from the Dock.
- The following details will be available:
- Visits - Number of people who visited your event website via the affiliate link.
- Orders Placed - Number of orders placed through the affiliate link.
- Total Sales - Ticket revenue generated from those orders.
Registrations made via affiliate links will also display in the Registrations > Attendee tab, allowing you to track attendees by source.
Exporting affiliates
Generate an offline copy of your list of affiliates. You can set a password before you download a copy to secure your file.
- Navigate to Manage > Promote > Affiliate from the Dock.
- Click the Export button in the top-right corner. The Export Affiliates dialog box will appear.

- To add a password, click the Protect the file with a password checkbox.
- Enter a password.
- Select a file format for your export.
- XLSX
- CSV
- Click Export.
Password protection ensures only authorized users can view affiliate data.
Deactivating an Affiliate Link
Deactivate your affiliates to pause tracking at any time. All the previous data will be saved and you can reactivate the links again to resume data collection when you're ready.
- Navigate to Manage > Promote > Affiliate from the Dock.
- Open the dropdown menu associated with the affiliate.
- Click Deactivate.
- Visitors can still access your event website using a deactivated affiliate’s link. However, Backstage will not record their visits, orders, or revenue until the affiliate is reactivated.
- To reactivate, simply open the dropdown menu of the inactive affiliate and click Activate. Tracking will continue from where it left off.
Deleting an Affiliate Link
Remove affiliates that are no longer a part of your affiliate strategy.
- Navigate to Manage > Promote > Affiliate from the Dock.
- Open the dropdown menu associated with the affiliate.
- Click Delete.
- Confirm deletion in the dialog box.
Only affiliate links that have not been used (no traffic, orders, or revenue recorded) can be deleted. Once an affiliate has activity, their record can only be deactivated, not deleted.
