Migrating from Meta's Workplace to Connect is incredibly user-friendly. This guide will assist you through the migration process, providing clear step-by-step instructions to import your users and company data from Meta's Workplace to Zoho Connect.

What data can you migrate from Meta's Workplace to Zoho Connect?

You can migrate users and their details, groups and group members, posts, the Knowledge Library, badges, polls, chats, and events. Once you start the import, these details will be registered automatically. How to migrate from Meta's Workplace to Zoho Connect

You must be the workplace system admin to perform the migration process.
The first step of the migration is to register an app in Meta's Workplace.


Why do you need to register an app in Workplace?

You'll get an access token after registering an app in Workplace. To begin the migration process, this token is mandatory.

How to get the access token

  1. Log in to your Meta's Workplace, then click the wrench icon on the left menu bar.



  2. Select Integrations from the Admin Panel menu.



  3. Click the Create custom integration button under the Custom integrations section.



  4. From the pop-up, enter the integration name (e.g. Zoho Connect Migration) and description (optional). Next, click Create.



Once the integration is created, you will see the page given below.


 

  1. Go to the Permissions section and give all Read permissions to the integration. (Refer to the image given below)



  2. Click Save.

  3. After saving permissions, go to the Details tab and click Create access token.



  4. From the pop-up, Copy the access token.


 

What to do after getting the access token

  1. Sign in to Zoho Connect.
  2. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner, then select Settings.



  3. Select Import under Data Administration.




  4. You can see the Workplace from Meta option on the import tab. Click the Get started.



  5. Paste the copied access key from Meta's Workplace and click Continue.




    InfoIf you don't have one, click How to get a Workplace access token above the access token key section. In a pop-up, the steps to get an access token will be shown for you.

  6. In the second step, click Import Users.



  7. On clicking, your organization's user data will be validated.



  8. Once done, the validated user count will be shown. Then, click Continue Import.



  9. Click Import data to start the data import process.



  10. Your network's data, such as groups, posts, events, manuals, and more, will be loaded into Zoho Connect.

    This may take a while based on the data volume. You'll receive an email once the import is done.

  11. Once imported, click Next.



  12. In the last step, click Import Chats.



    You'll be redirected to Zoho Cliq.

  13. Upload the chats .zip file and click Start Import.

    During chat migration, Slack export screens may appear. Irrespective of it, your Meta Workplace chats will still migrate to Zoho Connect when you proceed.


  14. Your chats (Channels) will be listed. Choose the ones you'd like to import.



  15. Once done, click Start Import.
  16. Your chats will be migrated, and you'll be notified via email once it is completed.



  17. Click Access Cliq to start using the channels in Zoho Connect.



  18. Now, you're completely migrated to Zoho Connect.



NotesYou can restart the migration anytime to import any data you may have missed earlier.
