Database Encryption
What is database encryption?
Data encryption transforms digital information from plain text into an indecipherable format known as ciphertext. This process of encoding (transforming) data uses what is known as a “Database password key”–a piece of information, usually numbers and letters, generated by a cryptographic algorithm.
Data encryption safeguards personal or sensitive information stored in your Desk database. We use the AES (Advanced Encryption Standards) algorithm for mobile app database encryption.
Only someone with a decryption key can decipher and convert the encrypted databases into a readable format.
Steps to enable encryption
1. Log in to your Zoho Desk app.
2. Tap the icon (
) click Settings.
3. Select Privacy and Security Settings.
4. Toggle Enable Encryption on your device to turn encryption on.

5. Once the encryption is complete, you will see the above success message.
You can toggle off the Encrypt option anytime to decrypt the data.
For the iOS mobile app, a BETA version of database encryption is currently available.
